After clearing SC+BW and now half way through Heart of the Swarm it is clear to me Starcraft II is literally Warcraft in space.

>go to primal zerg planet
>they are big talking lizards
>zeratul with his constant "kerrigan is the prophecy of the savior of the universe"

why is every video game story these days "the strong but vulnerable female is the key to saving the universe from the ultragigga evil"?

Everything is cartoon marvel capeshit these days. SC1 was nothing special storywise but by comparison to 2 it's fuckin genius.

HotS came out in 2013 dude. And the reason the stories and elements within them are similar is probably because they were made by a lot of the same people. But worry not, almost all of those people are gone now.

Nobody played Warcraft

I replayed 1 last year and I was suprised how retarded BW's story was. I always remembered all of 1 being pretty good then 2 was where it got shit.
2 is still next level garbage plotwise, but it started earlier than I remembered.
Still though, pretty fun campaigns.
