Always remember that diablo i and ii can be played offline without an account. I and my coworker finished diablo ii in its entirety, without any extra setup or hassle. Diablo iii, on the other hand, even after many years of operation, still requires for you to always be online. The rot was set in from the start. The gay ass wow graphics is just the cherry on top

D3 was a weird time for the franchise, it was a decent game but it got a lot of shit for the cartoony graphics, which is mostly the result of the game using the same engine as WoW. D4 is better.

Should I go and play through d2 solo? I played a ton of d2 as a kid, but I never actually beat it solo, I just let people rush me for my rune or gem, forget which, because I was a dumb kid who didn't know any better. I think I've beaten act I solo, but that's it

I tried D4 a few months ago because I got a deal on gamepass so it cost me only 1 euro.The speed of the game was horrendous, everything was moving in that irritatingly slow manner like amateur flash games.Graphics were whatever, the colors were terrible.Very unimaginative skills and effects.Literally the ONLY thing that was fun was level-up effect because your character emits a shockwave that trashes the surroundings.I played maybe four hours and uninstalled. Nothing in the game was interesting enough to keep me playing. I'd rather run through the Path of Exile campaign three times in a row than play D4.

Obviously the visuals lack of grit of past entries, but it's a decent time waster when you just want to turn off your brain, and the different builds can be surprisingly enjoyable. Has had a little too much power creep over the years though where you one shot everything on the highest difficulty with end game builds and just run rifts over and over for gear and chasing a power ceiling (fuck going for full primal equipment and all that, my grind autism as a solo player isn't that high).
I liked playing the Monk. It was fun.

The only good part about Diablo 4 was the prologue, the moment you get to easily kill the villagers the entire atmosphere is gone. I managed to go to the city and then I stopped because everything felt fake and gay. It almost feels like this was never supposed to be a Diablo game.

diablo 3 pre-nerf inferno on launch was really fun from a pure gameplay perspective. was basically a bullet hell playing on dh. required actual mechanical skill that so many diablo-likes completely lack. everything else was mid but credit where credit is due, it was kewl beating diablo boss before patch.
