What exactly is the point of soul harvest if you pick Wildy and Desert? Everyone is acting like RC is this impossible skill to level up when we have a dozen ways to do so and chaos altar with transmutation would be a much much faster and better way to level up the skill, so why does every faggot and their content creators suggest that waste of a skill?

From these 3 relics Natures accord feels like the much better skill. Use that to use your highest level herb, downgrade them until they're up to your herbelore level and then make your potions until you can do the minigame in Varlo. Am I missing something? Why is Chaos Altar never mentioned?

If you're going for 50m Runecraft XP (point capping, completing every single task) then Soul Harvest is pretty necessary because Runecraft is aids to train. Even with GOTR and other "good" training methods you're topping out at like 1m/hr.
But the vast majority of people are not doing that, so they don't need to pick it. If your goal is Dragon Cup you don't even need to get every skill to 99. A lot of people are picking Kandarin which will have a 95 RC task to make Wrath runes, but that's doable if you have any half-decent training method, like Zeah or Morytania for blood runes and the Map relic so you can teleport to shortcuts. And Prayer is completely irrelevant here, superior dragon bones on the Wildy altar is literally >50m/hr.

I'm personally taking Larcenist over NA, NA is definitely good but I feel like Transmute is a good enough solve for Farming + Herbs (I will always have the best tree seeds and whatever herbs I need) and you still need to do farm runs with NA anyway since they don't instant-grow this time.

It depends on how much GotR you plan to do and whether you're using diary lamps on RC. Most people have a raging hate-boner for Agility and RC, so they'll pick and aggressively advertise any relic that affects these skills. It's possible to train RC as long as you have a reliable source of pure essence and an altar to use it that isn't abysmal dog shit. Desert doesn't need to worry about that due to GotR. I guess the Wildy does have the novelty of picking up bones in the bone yard and instantly getting 99 Prayer with Transmutation, but is that really worth picking a relic for?
You'll probably be fucked for herbs with Wildy and Desert, so Nature's Accord isn't a terrible idea. You'll be fucked for herb patches so even if you're drowning in seeds, you'll have nowhere to plant them. It's also one of the few region combinations where Friendly Forager is okay, although it isn't for the secondaries.

It could be a little overwhelming.
One of the gimmicks this time is that instead of starting in Misthalin like normal (Lumbridge and Varrock and the surrounding areas), that whole region is completely inaccessible. Instead we're starting in Varlamore, the newest region in the bottom left of the map, which has a ton of content to do that would all be new to you.
In Leagues you don't have the whole map available to you, just 3 regions of your choice (plus the starting region and Karamja) that you have to unlock by completing tasks in your areas and with general progression (eg. reaching certain levels). This limits your options, but that can help make things less overwhelming since you don't have to consider the entire game. A lot of people use Leagues to try out higher-level content they're not as familiar with, like Raids, or just stick with the content that they know they enjoy doing. Each region this time also has its own "Echo Boss," stronger versions of existing bosses like KBD or Kalphite Queen, which drop overpowered Leagues-only items that you can have fun with and build around.

The most overwhelming part is probably the other new gimmick this League, the "Demonic Pacts" which are replacing the old Combat Mastery system. You progress your melee/magic/range by completing specific combat-related tasks to earn points, which you spend in a pretty in-depth skill tree that leads you into specific builds (eg. using crossbows or fire spells). You have a limited number of points, a good amount of which are locked behind pretty high-level content, and a limited number of opportunities to respec your points.
It is a lot to look at, and I would tell you to just follow a guide but a lot of Youtubers are just showing off what you can do if you have all the points and endgame gear. If you just focus on building into one specific thing and branching out from there, you'll be fine. At worst you'd just be playing the game normally with some perks.

Also, in terms of Relics, they've done a pretty good job balancing them this time, you don't need to worry about it so much. None of them are really bad options for normal people who just want to have some fun with the temporary game mode.
If you end up regretting not picking something or if you're torn between two options in the same tier, you can use Reloaded in Tier 7 to go back and pick it up anyway.

relics are mostly self-explanatory, but you should still look into them before you pick them since they're permanent. the first tier of relics is pretty self-explanatory and balanced:

>Barbarian Gathering is good if you have access to the highest tier woodcutting and mining resources (redwoods in Zeah and amethyst in Asgarnia), but offers passive Agility and Strength XP

so for someone who's unfamiliar with the game, Endless Harvest is likely the logical choice as you're less aware of what's in each region and you'll get good value out of AFKing, whether you're just clicking a rock and going to sleep or using that AFK time to think about things.

Magic weapons are kind of feast or famine with needing to get the spear/wand drop from Moons/Huey but the Accursed Sceptre could be a sleeper pick here, even outside of Wildy it's only marginally worse than a Trident and it's gonna shred at 1tick. In long run you can pick up the Eye from Doom and a Kodai/Shadow from CoX (I will obviously be getting the giga staff from Thermie)

i calc'd crystal accursed sceptre and it's competitive with air magic for DPS in Wildy, but obviously falls behind outside of it. still, it's fun and nice to have.
i'm going to start crossbow with a similar route and short-term goal of KBD crossbow, but i think once i'm done with Corrupted Gauntlet (I'm going WKT, I don't like raids at all) and no longer need 1t powered staves, I'll look into other builds. while the KBD crossbow does synergize with magic and functions as an execute, it may be better to respec into thorns in the endgame, even without access to extremely high defense armor. Wildy gets access to the dragonfire shield which only has a -10 mage bonus and can be used with both crystal blessing and accursed sceptre to probably push it past air magic for teh lulz - but again, only in Wildy, i don't if thorns makes up the difference elsewhere but 1t powered staves is just a fundamentally broken concept.

honestly i might save Kandarin for last so I can feel out how powered staves feel and whether it's even worth going air magic.

I am also going KBD crossbow, and I think flask is still better than minion in that combat style. You should be regenerating enough ammo that minion collecting ammo drops won't matter that much. Your DPS should be high enough at that point that the damage minion does will just be chip damage. Sustain seems like a more reasonable choice imo. If I were to do a melee build, I would take minion over flask.

Minion does like 6 dps, that's not negligible. Even if you have a crazy build doing 30dps that's a 20% damage increase. AoE damage also helps a lot if you're relying on slow single-target damage like the crossbow (I don't have ancients so my best aoe is throwing black chins).
On the other hand, I'm picking Zeah and Minion does literally nothing against Yama. I'm kind of shit at the game and a full restore for long/hard fights could be a great crutch for me, it could nuke waves at the Colosseum.
Maybe I can respec into the Wind+Water build for all the dps and sustain that I need to carry me through shit. I'm not so sure anymore, I'll definitely consider Flask.

I'm a Brazilian and we recently got servers. Always played with >150ms latency, now it's 10ms. It's like a completely different game. I had 1000kc at Vardorvis and only ~5% of them were perfect kills, now I just did 100kc and like 88 of them were perfect kills (most of the non-perfect kills were because I'm still not used to the low latency ticks and end up clicking too early)

It's insane how much of a difference latency makes in this game. Way more than in a game like WoW that has very small ticks.

Does Self inflicted damage activate recoils? Working on the assumptions thorns will be a strict hit taken required effect, but recoils could add up a decent bit if some of the self damage in the tree activates them.

I'm slowly realizing I don't give a fuck about Kandarin outside of elemental magic, and I can theoretically replace elemental magic's utility and DPS with other regions.

I'm definitely going Wildy and Tirannwn, which I feel only really lends itself to powered staves, but that shoehorns me into a raid region. I wonder if the Morytania echo item is any good when it's 1t. It might be possible to do some sort of weird powered staves / thorn build with:
