I've always been a bit uncomfortable when a setting has souls being consumed / destroyed. I feel like if souls in a setting exist, then that implies a sort of endlessness to your existence, perhaps also an afterlife they're meant to end up in. But if the setting has warlocks consuming souls or whatever, then that becomes kind of horrifying to me as their existence went from infinite to short in an instant. And stories tend not to make a big deal of it like it is in my head. In Fable you're asked to sacrifice the soul of your mother. In Doom Eternal you use souls as ammo for the BFG
