Most of the actual frames that get into the show are produced by overseas animators, mostly koreans, the problem is that the material given to them by the western animators to work with is really shit. there was a conversation recently showing off the incredibly specific and inefficient storyboarding that western animators do, and it reminded me of a video I saw about Steven Universe's animation and how poor storyboarding was the reason why it was so incredibly inconsistent and sometimes stiff, but then they get one single japanese animator to do storyboards for one episode and its the most consistently well animated episode of the season it was in, probably even of the whole show, even though the budget wasn't any biggeri wish i could find both of these things, the invincible storyboards were basically sketching out whole individual drawn frames with timing, with the korean animators just copying them 1:1

The comic itself had a Tech Jacket backup for awhile as well so his third "series" was just in the back of the book you were already reading, meaning even if you hadn't read the earlier books you're introduced to him before he just shows up for the war.
