a lot of developers back then thought they were such awesome fuckin pioneers duuuude, like, the rock star shit kept happening all over the place because it wasn't really a thing for some random folks in a garage or a company cubicle to put out a playable product that straight up got hundreds of thousands to eventually millions of sales, unless you were the music industry of the time. it's not much wonder that naka, romero and others got their heads so far up their asses, and it had a pretty bad habit of attracting attention-grabbing fuckwits.
