>>737016368The thing about playstation these days is that you can play more playstation games on emulators that on an actual playstation. Most PS4 and PS5 games went multiplat so unless you really want to play bloodborne or the vanillaware games there is not many reasons to get one. They´ve said they are no longer going to release first party titles on PC going forward but that´s not really a great loss... GoW sucks, Ghost of Tsujima is mid, Uncharted is pretty much over and 4 was already mediocre compared to 2 and 3, TLOU fucked up and Drunkman´s retro sci fi game looks like it´s going to be a bore as well.Furthermore some games never even got ported to the later consoles so if you want to play a gem like Folklore... well, you can´t. Unless you emulate it. My advice is wait it out. See if the next gen actually delivers some exclusives you care for, if it does and you missed stuff like Uncharted 2 and 3 it may be worth it. Never buy a console if it doesn´t have at least 10 exclusive games you can´t play nowhere else.

An exec sees a trend, Fortnite, and even multiple ones thriving at once like Apex and then gives the new mandate for pumping out live service games. Only that game development takes like 4 years+ now, so by the time they come out they've missed the wave for the trend they were chasing.
