With the dust settled... does it surpass botw?
Go ahead and shill me on your shit romhack OP, I know you want to.
>>737022378Always did.
>>737022378*cough* *cough* It's still dusty here
yeahand it'll surpass BOTW even harder if they remake it and fix all the annoying shit and add the canceled 3rd game
what would Secrets' map-changing goddess tool gimmick have been
>>737022378>Directs 2 GOATed traditional Zeldas>Directs SS, BotW, and TiktokI wish Fujibayashi would have another crack at the traditional formula.
>>737022378>With the dust settled...why do you type shit like this, shut up
>>737023026>Ages>Seasonsif we continue with the "durations of time" theme, maybe we'd get a tool that changes the map from night to day
>>737023026Sky Keep’s sliding tile puzzle but for the whole overworld map and recurring in most dungeons. Sections of the map would be grouped together or there might be some immovable tiles to limit the number of combinations to something manageable for players.
>>737022378Of course. They were by Capgod.
>>737023726He also directed Minish Cap, and lmao, Four Swords (Not Four Swords Adventures), the most nothingburger "entry" in the series
>>737022543This but unironically, I would play even a mediocre OoA or OoS hack
>>737022543I got only as far as a rpgmaker secrets map once kek
>>737023026>>737023792someone made a bunch of maps for the third game where that was actually the gimmick, as an april fools joke
>>737023026Underground-... oh no...
>>737023026Mystery Seeds but as a map-wide gimmick is the only way I can really see it working. You'd have some sort of Rod of Secrets that when swung at objects revealed their true nature, and so the entire game would be revealing the world for what it is or reverting it back to its fake form to solve puzzles.>>737027904>No one made a romhack of this.Actually mad.
Was replaying the Oracles recently for the first time in years, and it's solidified my opinion that they're the best 2D Zeldas.
>>737022378I remember seeing a fan game trailer last year I think it was that was in the style of the oracle games but I cant recall what its called now.
The oracle games are better than botw and tears in every conceivable way possible
>>737028982I love 2D zelda games and i never knew this besides Altp, Links awakening and minish cap. Is this good compared others?
>>737029040never mind this was it https://youtu.be/hZw1JeUSxJk
>>737023026It probably would have been more about masks/identities/disguises, seeing as how the Oracles games were taking Majora’s Mask inspiration. Link has to done certain facades in order to talk to talk to certain characters or get into certain areas and learn its secrets.
>>737022378The fact that these games are completely forgotten, speaks to how mediocre they are.
I'm excited for that rumored OoT remake. It means they're interested in returning to that style of Zelda, like how a random Metroid 2 remake from Mercury Steam was practice for making Metroid Dread.
>>737029118They're fantastic. Ages is more puzzle-oriented, Seasons is more combat-oriented. Subrosia in Seasons is super cool as a gimmick compared to the past in Ages, and Ages had the Mermaid's Tail which is the single worst sub item and the worst dungeon tied to it in the entire series. True garbage in every way.It also requires three playthroughs (NG on one of them, linked game in the other, then linked game again in the original) unless you use a password generator to start with a linked game but they intend for you to experience at least one game with none of the extra content from the other game in it. There's also a GBA-exclusive store but unless you're doing the VC copies on the 3DS this is irrelevant and you can just emulate them with mGBA to get the exclusive rings from it.
>>737029118They play like Link's Awakening but have their own unique identity.
>>737029118LA+ with different places, bosses, some 'mon collecting mechanics and time-travel plots
>>737029240Inb4 they redesign the Gerudos
>>737031839oh no?! the gerudo section of the game is now full of eight foot tall muscle-wives?!
>>737023026tool is a bookit is very likely the map gimmick was size change, which was recycled for minish cap
>>737029247>three playthroughsuhh sounds complicated to pull it out as you mentioned. Can i just play those from OPs pic? I got a little headache reading after you said about three playthroughs
>>737029118LTTP and Minish Cap fucking suck.Oracle games and Link's Awakening are great.
>>737029974whats LA+? LA DX HD pc port thing?>>737032737no offense i enjoyed all 2D zelda games, i hope i will enjoy playing oracle games as well. I also enjoyed playing other indie games that imitating the aesthetic and gameplay of 2D zelda games recently
>>737022378The CD-i games surpass BOTW.
>>737022378It's still my favorite Fujibayashi work, so I guess yeah.
>>737032650Secrets doesn't exist, it's just Ages and Seasons. You can use a password generator if you don't want to do the three playthroughs, the main reason you'd do three playthroughs is that that's how they intended you to do it so you could tell what was changed and potentially experience 2/3 of the animal partners. When you clear the game in Ages or Seasons it gives you a password for a Linked Game. If you use it in the opposite game it unlocks the true ending, adds in characters from the opposite game into the world (Like Subrosians in Ages for example), you get some items from the opposite game to use, and you get all the rings from the original playthrough to use in your Linked Game playthrough. Then you would take that save and use it on the original game you played.
>>737022378>oracle of secretsWouldn't the third one logically be day and night? I get that it's secrets because only 2 games released but still.
>>737023792>someone else pointed it outI'd imagine it would have had an internal clock like Pokemon Gold/Silver, but then that leads to the potential of having to be up at like 2am to access game content.
Dont mind me im just here to post the obligatory.
>>737032965i see, i get it now. Thanks! I hop into it next week
>>737033096
What 2d zelds are worth playing. I've played a link to the past, a link between worlds, and link's awakening. Should I play any others?
>>737033170you can try minish cap. Idk if you will like it or not but i grew playing minish cap only. Be warned tho that minish cap has one dragging mechanic which is finding kinstones and remember where is the npc to fuse it
>>737033170All of them are worth it really, Zelda 1 is sort-of variable (it's very much the first try at the formula) but it's still not a bad game
Playing Link's Awakening remake makes me want both Oracle games remade in that same style.>>737033170Basically all of them, I beat Ocarina of Time, Legend of Zelda NES and Echoes of Wisdom in the last few weeks, Echoes of Wisdom was the only one I didn't love, and now I'm playing Link's Awakening, but A link to the Past is excellent, so is A Link Between Worlds, the wall merge is especially stand out with how well it's integrated into the game as a whole, so is Minish Cap, Haven't played 4 Swords or Spirit Tracks and don't remember Phantom Hourglass well, haven't played Triforce Heores and haven't finished Oracles games.>>737033137At least post it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncodef0d28s

Who's the first weird as fuck character in a zelda game? I don't think the cd-i characters count, I'm talking about mask salesman weird
>>737035919tanooki guy in link's awakening?
>"it's so fucking hard GOD">go on the internet>everyone calls it too easyAm I retarded?
