Beat it for the first time recently. Story felt really messy, but I liked Squall. It's kinda interesting, I'd heard mixed opinions on him before, but he just seemed good to me. Arguably the only really good character, people like Selphie and Laguna were charming, but it didn't feel like there was enough meat to the side characters.I know people are tired of remakes, but I do think this one would really benefit from one.

I think its the best FF overall even though it sas more weaknesses than VII, it makes up for it with its strengths. The highs are really fucking high. the soundtrack is the greatest in all of vidya. the art style and world is my favorite in any jrpg. I think the story is misunderstood and slept on and is incredibly cool. But sadly unlike VII it clearly suffers from being rushed out the door.
