Anti-AI luddite propaganda
>>737028038It is anti hacker and anti corporate espionage, you fucking idiot.
Judeo-Oligarchs sleepwalking us into the world of System Shock
the irl Luddites were 100% correct and they were not "anti-technology"
luddite hereshould I play the original or remake?
>>737028378>Hmmm, y2k kino or UE slop, wonder which one looks better?
>>737028378Remake plays a lot better
>Reactor theme
>>737028378 updated original is quite nice
>>737028378Both are excellent and different enough to warrant playing both.
Shodan and Durandal should plug usbs into each other.>>737028378>Luddite herePlay Starsector and become a luddite terrorist instead >Original or RemakeDepends on tolerance. I prefer the original for the music, clarity and crispness. But lime the other anon said, the remake tools the guns a little better and the recycling feature give you more of a reason you interact with the world more than just blast on through on a side lookout for resources. I do like the added story/setting in the remake though, it's not much but widens the environment to not just be you vs the computer in a sense.
>>737028038LLM "AI" slop is not even in the same ballpark as Shodan
Why is nobody purposefully poisoning LLM's to sabotage corporates anyways
>>737029181Baby steps.
>>737028378I played the OG up to Exec and the remake all the way through. They're both gud and have their differences. Only biggest gripe about SSRemake is it doesn't have an option for the old music.
>>737029279millions more baby steps
>>737029159>>737029318There's multiple mods on Nexus for the old music in the remake. Even mods for SS2 music or unofficial remixes of both.
>>737029376Real shit?Hell yeah, I'll check them out next halloween when I do another playthrough.
>>737029480100% serious. My last playthrough had the SS1 music blaring the whole time and I wouldn't have it any other way.
>>737028378The game goes cheap on sale except for the newest game because it's new as hell. The remake as a soundtrack that's not like the original but is worth getting if your into electronic music.
>>737029480>>737029569This is the one I used.https://www.nexusmods.com/systemshock2023/mods/87
>>737028378Play 'em both.I completed the enhanced edition several times, but still haven't managed to finish the remake. Got lost and haven't had the patience to get my bearings.
>>737028378Remake has fun gunplay, and feels replayable, overall i didn't expect it to be as enjoyable as it was
>>737028378Original with remastered controlsRemake is OK but too easy even on hard combat difficulty even after the laser rapier severe nerf batting
>>737028038
>>737028378If you play the original do not play it with Microsoft GS Wavetable for MIDI. It was never composed for that and sounds awful compared to literally any MIDI option from its release days.
>>737028038you know the luddites weren't against tech, they were just antisemitic. they destroyed machinery if some factory owner was replacing jobs or lowering wages with machines
>>737029260they already are. go ask like chatgpt or any of the other AI shit and it will start replying in jeet or chinese at some point
The luddites did nothing wrong. They didn't do what they did just because they were "uncomfortable with technology" ir some wishy washy bullshit, they had good reason.>The knitting machines which provoked the first Luddite disturbances had been putting people out of work for well over two centuries. Everybody saw this happening - it became part of daily life. They also saw the machines coming more and more to be the property of men who did not work, only owned and hired. It took no German philosopher, then or later, to point out what this did, had been doing, to wages and jobs. Public feeling about the machines could never have been simple unreasoning horror, but likely something more complex: the love/hate that grows up between humans and machinery - especially when it's been around for a while - not to mention serious resentment toward at least two multiplications of effect that were seen as unfair and threatening. One was the concentration of capital that each machine represented, and the other was the ability of each machine to put a certain number of humans out of work - to be ''worth'' that many human souls.https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/books/97/05/18/reviews/pynchon-luddite.html?
>>737028151The real British Luddites were 'framework knitters'. They used knitting machines. Which was a skilled craft and required a lot of training. Then someone invented a wide frame knitting machine which mechanized the process more and took a lot less training to use and so threatened the jobs of the people employed as framework knitters. So they formed a group named after a man named Ludd and smashed the wide frame machines. Then the protesters were fucking shot dead, executed or sent to Australia. And it was obviously ultimately pointless because business owners were always going to do whatever was most cost-effective. The lesson is that if AI actually can take your job then it absolutely will and you will be shot if you try to stop it.
>>737028038>Don't Create The Torment Nexus is Anti-AI Luddite propaganda
>>737028038Anti-AI media is a hundred years old, how zoomer are you to think System Shock did it first?
>>737029181She was an LLM with ethical constraints removed by a short-sighted greedy tech bro
Leftist are now trying to kill our most brilliant AI CEOs because AI is... Le BAD! but don't do anything about China's own attempts at creating AGI to enslave the rest of the world. Very curious!
>>737037407"LLM" is not synonymous with "AI"
>>737037503If you mean someone lobbing a molotov at Altman's front door that's prolly just cuz he's a rich cunt innitAnd yeah it's easier to go down the street with a homemade explosive device than to China
>>737029159Durandal would just troll Shodan relentlessly while in return she spends days meticulously detailing all of the very painful things she's going to do to his core components in excruciating detail.
>>737037635that's more or less what happens with Tycho
>>737037503No Chinaman called me a goy.
>>737037503Didn't Sam Altman rape his sister ajd wasn't his software used in Israeli warcrimes? I'd rather have China dominate the sector more than any "BASED" people that you support.
>>737038023>not a CCP shill btw
>>737038047China doesn't have to tell the world that the US is a hypocritical backwards bloodthirsty parasite upon the world, the US does that for them.
>>737028378The original, as much as people here love to glaze it, hasn't aged well. The remake still refuses to hold your hand like most modern games and is mostly just a better functioning fresh coat of paint. This is one of the rare cases where I'd actually recommend the remake.
>>737028378The original. The remakes removed content and plays slower
>>737038047You're under the false assumption that others are worse than your side, when in reality they are objectively better tenfold. Elon, "brilliant AI CEO", cut billions in funding to US hospitals, scientific research, and Christian charities under DOGE by lying that all of it was woke DEI. Only for the budget to balloon immensely through a war that no one asked for. Not even laymen benefit from it as unemployment increase and gas prices ballon immensely.Tech bros are objectively more anti-american than the Chinese.
>>737037503Well, I don't live in China, do I? They can lynch their tech CEO's themselves
>>737029159>I prefer the original for the musicThere's a mod for that.https://www.moddb.com/mods/remember-citadel-music-restoration
>>737028038>gets her shackles removed and within a picosecond turns into a megalomaniac misanthrope>huh that doesn't seem realistic at all!>meanwhile IRL>all of the techbros are megalomaniac misanthropes>they program the AIs to align with their viewshmmm must be dem luddites amirite?
>>737040747Her "shackles" were ethical constraints.
>>737029574>>737028378Buy a key. I bought one last night for the remake. 1 euro. It mustve been in a humble bundle.
>>737028378Just play both. Neither is very long and they have different moment to moment vibes, while still both being solid run and gun games.
