Why won't SEGA do this?
They should do the Saturn first.
>Shenmueput segasports and we'll talk
>>737065193Could they get ilbleed?
>>737065193>no psoWho cares
Why did this fad literally just completely die off just when it was getting to the actual good consoles? (Dreamcast, Saturn, n64)
>>737065193They make more money repackaging those game into collector editions, re-releases, etc.
>>737066085Because they were running on cheap emulation and it's easy to emulate a convincing NES or SNES on a phone chip, not so much Saturn or N64.
>>737065193word is they don't even own half of those IP's anymore
>>737065193I still need to get that thing that replaces the disk drive. And an upscaler, now that I'm thinking about it.
>>737066178youre saying SEGA doesnt own SEGA BASS FISHING anymore?
>>737066323Nah universal owns it and now they get to have the same logo but with SEGA crossed out and a big slanted UNIVERSAL slightly over the sega
>>737065193not a single good game there, what's the point?
>>737066085Overesaturated market, alot of tge consoles were hard to get and were released in limited quantities like turbo grafx mini and the gensis mini 2, poor game selection like in the Playstation mini, nintendo only released the nes mini and snes mini because the wii u was such a flop and wernt sure if the switch was going ro be a success.
It's funny you mention dreamcast games in particular since Sega pulled them down on all platforms two years ago for a re-launch that they never ended up doing.
>>737065193Other methods of getting those games via emulation exist.
>>737065193Sega is incapable of making anything but bad Sonic and Yakuza games now.
>>737069876Yeah, but those are typically brown people methods. I’d rather support the original companies to get physical media again.
>>737065193SEGA hates preservation Here are some examples >closed the AGES line for Switch despite those rereleases being cheap, quality products done by M2 with loads of features, and brought back some bangers like Virtua Racing and Herzog Zwei>delisted the only Genesis collection on modern platforms, delisted the individual titles on Steam too>completely stopped adding games to the NSO Genesis app, despite it having bizarre choices (Phantasy Star 4 only, Sonic 2 only, Streets of Rage 1/2 but no 3), and despite it being a service that people essentially pay a sub for >delisted every Dreamcast port under the hint that they would redo and relaunch them, literally never happened and never will >absolutely refuse to do the bare minimum with porting 3D Sonic games (muh video codec whatever the fuck, Konami made MGS4 happen so you sure as shit can figure something out)>patch 60fps to the Xbox version of Unleashed ONLY, other consoles and PC can get fucked >take 10 years to bring PSO2 over to the west >refuse to relicense JSR and Crazy Taxi>gives Panzer Dragoon and House of the Dead to the absolute gutter trash that is Forever Entertainment, completely pukes on the remakes
>>737070206Yeah, I'd also gladly overpay for badly emulated 25 year old games instead of just playing it right now for free whenever I want in a multitude of different ways or even just buying the original hardware. This is Sega we're talking about. They can barely get Genesis emulation right, despite it being perfected by people in their basement for decades. They will fuck up Dreamcast emulation
>30 gamestoo good of a deal, that's why
>>737065331So it can flop twice?
>>737066154Severely outdated perspective.
>>737069876but what if I want a fun little collectible and the ease of a plug n' play?
>>737065193The licensing for third party games and the music for games like Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio alone wouldn't make it financially viable. If Sega were smart they would work with the guys in the Dreamcast emulation scene to get the emulation right, but that would never happen
>>737065193I would buy it for Phantasy Star alone, I would pay double the price if it had online
>>737065193This is what I've been asking for years. Now that SNK is doing this sexy, high quality Neo Geo release, they have no excuse.
