You should give it a try, and be patient. Could take a while to get really into it. But don't force yourself to like it. Maybe it could become your favorite game in the series. Maybe you'll hate it.
MISS MISS MISS is a bit of a meme, but the combat sure is different. Make sure to start with a decent amount of Agility (at the very fucking least 50) and use a weapon that is also your mayor skill. And keep your stamina high. It affects every roll.
What Morrowind has going for it is the strange and weird world, the freedom, fucking around with spells, cool equipment and layered armor and just an overall unique atmosphere and tone. It also doesn't baby the player as much as Skyrim.

The way the peasants can see where the local lord lives from across the river as they go out to farm, but it's actually very far away walking all the way around then back in through the main gate, is how you do worlbuilding. Then making the halls a maze to navigate where someone important might be behind 5 different doors ties it all together. The first time I was looking for someone in Roa Dyr I felt like a fish out of water, like I was an obvious idiot foreigner intruding on someone's land. I love that shit.

My current Bestlocke run is going quite well. Managed to not fucking die before making it to Balmora. Current character is a Khajiit Slave by the name of Sugar-Junkie Ja'zzr. The Slave class in Morrowind is just a shittier Monk, so this run is gonna be extra painful.

It's a challenge run created by the YouTuber, Best Opinion Haver. Normally I would scoff at shit like this, but this challenge run is legit pretty fun.

To Win the run: Finish 2 Faction Questlines, Vanilla + TR each. (Main Quest counts as 1)

Permadeath
Max Difficulty
No CHIM (AKA, no command console!)
No Creature Merchants
No Boots Of Blinding Speed
No Fortify Intelligence Potions
Must Level Up when able (no saving levels to grind optimal stat boosts.)
No Dark Brotherhood Armor (Can't wear it or sell it.)
No Bound Weapons from Enchantments
