Oblivion is finally playable again!! Jesus Christ... The midgame for this title is genuinely fucking horrible. I ended up overlevelled doing the mage and thieves guild quest and was going through a good ten or fifteen hour period where I had to unload my entire magika pool and run around like an idiot waiting for it to recharge. I ended up going into my first Oblivion gate at 16 facing obnoxiously geared Deidra and summons. Absolutely torturous... But now I've reached the other side and am starting to get my skills to the 75 breakpoint. It's genuinely stupid how much I struggled pre-75 compared to now that I have restoration and destruction above it. That period wasn't even fun.Please tell me Skyrim is better about scaling and magic? There's no way I'm suffering through a destruction mage a second time but dual wielding with restoration and conjured gear would be fine yeah?

It isn't perfect by any stretch, but it has a lot of the important stuff, and it's easy to tack things onto it. Once you're more familiar with what you want, you can either download a different existing pack, or make one yourself. But I&A is only like 20gb and it's a one-click install, it's a good tutorial and introduction.

How's the saarfield modding scene? Even though everything has sort of an uncanny Institute look i can also look really great at times. Seems like a solid foundation to build on. The whole traveling on a cramped space ship feel also basically makes it a pirate game.

The Creation engine is so good because it really gives you that intimate interactivity with the world few other games can replicate, least of all UE5 slop. The only problem is nobody at Bethesda can animate, program AI or write worth a dick. Actual characters with actual faces they spent time on actually making and animating are fine.
