You might not have seen any if you haven't done much lower difficulty runs because it's like 1% on normal but each boss has a common and rare drop. Dreadnautilus lets you summon a leg (And it's kinda shit because it comes with elite modifiers and they can really fuck you up). They're mostly pretty eh, but the one from Mother is obscenely good. Other than that, Lord Bunga, Chubs, Coven, Boris and Spinerette have some pretty slick stuff for some builds.

The difference between a cat with inheritance and a cat without is night and day, but the system only allows for one viable genepool, and the amount of different skills/passives/mutations that genepool can reliably maintain is not really that high before it becomes a bit of a shitshow to manage.This means that you're sort of pushed into developing a meta or ubiquitous genepool, especially with how hard it is to reclaim a lost mutation (and with some mutations being leagues ahead of others), and cats from that genepool are going to outperform cats from outside that genepool to a ridiculous degree.So you don't have the wiggle room to try fun stuff out without potentially tanking your entire metaprogression, and as it goes on it becomes more and more tedious to even try. I mean, there's some passives which would be kinda fun, but they're not going to be nearly as universally utile as my beloved Running Jab. I understand some anons enjoy Super Luck or Goofballing, and there's some Blacksmith degenerates around.

I didn't do any breeding minmaxxing until about 115 hours in when I was struggling to clear prehistoric and hadn't even beaten das future. I had 500 food stockpiled and only 3 rooms in the house unlocked. I opted to get mutations first and ignored the 7 stats entirely until I had 10 strong mutations locked in. I kept the amount of cats as low as possible because then I could focus on breeding specific things and not have to adventure to get more food and just use my stockpile. All I did was use a room with about 10-15 mutation score and dump strays in and end day over and over until I saw a good mutation, where I'd collect cats with good mutations and start breeding them in a breeding room that initially only had about 45 stim and slowly building up a line with the right mutations. It took a lot of ending days over and over and letting the breeding happen until I was actually able to get the right mutation combo, and a lot of times I'd settle with a certain part mutation until I found a better one, which then took ages to integrate into the line. I did get really lucky with the mutations that popped up, I had the bonus attack and bonus turn mutations fairly early on. Real talk though the struggle of having a cat get old and hoping it doesn't die before making a new perfect cat is stressful, that also happened when I first got Goofball and it took several kittens before it was even passed on. Anyways I would not recommend minmax breeding because it's extremely boring and tedious. And so is the end result, because you make the game too easy. I am going to make a new save and just use strays only now because game is very fun when you aren't worrying about all the setup.

Every jester I've ever run has been top tier. Given them any source of rerolled and keep fishing for broken abilities. My most recent one had hyperbeam (which does 25 damage but fires on your next turn) and Goofball (get an extra turn immediately after your current one). Once I got hyperbeam+ he was doing 150 damage per turn. He killed Hitler 3 so fast I didn't even see what he could do.

Tinkerer is at least more fun to play since you do more than just try to move and then pass the turn because you aren't in range to do anything because the game didn't give you one of the 5 mobility spells Mage gets.

Bullseye also gives a 25% chance to crit which isn't much. Bullseye is not nearly as strong as Catch Projectiles which can give you so many basic attacks each turn. Breed needle shot on one cat and spam your needle shots on your Catch Projectiles cat and you're giving them 1 extra basic attack for every 2 mana spent on needle shots. There's also a good amount of things that count as projectiles and can be caught.Bullseye just doesn't come close to this.

In the second run I lost a cat to a zombie (summoned by Necronomicon). Mother was quick to swallow my tank - a healer and a hunter weren't quick enough to hill her.I guess I could take more INT oriented classes. Perhaps Druid is also more suitable than a fighter. Will try again tomorrow, although I think I need to farm some items on Hard level first.
