I've been playing this and I've come to the conclusion it might actually be worse than Dark Souls 2. Everybody who says they love Demon Souls but hate Dark Souls 2 is a LARPer who never played this piece of shit.

Demons Souls is definitely the worst mechanically but it's also old as fuck. Aesthetically it laps 2.

Everyone who hates Demon's Souls likes the hype moments and aura of boss fights and never the difficulty and attrition that is the majority of actually playing the game. They would run past everything in the game just because they think bosses are the only things worth caring about and because Miyazaki is too spineless to add a gate that requires enemies to be dead instead of that stupid ladder that everyone dies trying to climb or the fogwall you get kicked out of go through. They're bitchass motherfuckers who want to minimize their time playing the game and maximize their progress through it, and how you feel about checkpoints immediately before a boss dictates your taste in the series far more than anything else.
Demons Souls is the only true genuine "souls" game next to Dark Souls 2Dark Souls 1 doesnt count, DS1 is a completely isolated experience out of the entire franchise. Its completely unique to itelf and never been replicated by any game even by Fromsoft.

From really cooked with the Estus, it's the perfect solution to the consumable problem by designing lengths of level around the amount of drinks you'd have on hand.

The areas themselves are trecherous, and the punishment for failure is severe. That's just how they were designed, but taking things slow and being observant almost always helped you out. I'm so fucking sick of zoomers who started with DS3 expecting these games to be high speed boss rushes where you roll a dozen times in succession, and then bitching when they're not. The priority to mainly being about the bossfights started with Bloodborne, and the design ethos of the franchise was permanently tarnished with Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. Demon's Souls is one of the most unique games I've ever played, there is absolutely nothing else like it, and you retards want it to be DS3.
