>>737088603I always hated QTEs back at the time too if that's what you're implying. But i forgave their use in Shenmue. Not that it should have been forgiven i just have nostalgia attachment to both of the first two games. Good fun adventure games and its neat when you get to do actual fighting too. The QTEs had some interesting conditions for failures sometimes i suppose like a chase sequence will play out differently and then after the cutscene sequence it changes the objective of the game depending on the results. I have no nostalgia attachment to any of RE4s QTEs at all. They're shit. Theres rarely an instance where they were good and even Shenmue can be a bit of a dick about it too sometimes. Like throw in a QTE after you've finished a boss fight and its really unforgiving timing as well. I just remembered some god awful ones in Star Fox Adventures. Yeah some games just didn't need them in retrospect.
