Do you like Koei Tecmo? Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste, but when Nioh 2 came out in 2021, I think they really came into their own—commercially and artistically. The whole game has a clear, crisp gameplay, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the battle a big boost. It's been compared to Shadows die Twice, but I think Nioh has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In 2026, they released Nioh, their most accomplished game. I think their undisputed masterpiece is still their yet game, the Cyberpunk Ninja project.
