>>737117514I think MGRR is the pinnacle of action/combat games. FF7R did a good job of blending strategy of a turn-based game with real-time combat and came out more engaging and fun as a result. There's nothing engaging about e33 combat outside of parrying. It might have good music and story but it's so boring to actually play.

Anyone else got a taste for turn-based RPGs following Expedition 33? I played a handful as a kid as my mom is massively into them but never really had the motivation to play any as an adult. Since E33 I've played FF4, Grandia, Octopath 1, BG3 and Metaphor. Still on Grandia at the moment, might play 2 and 3 after that and then another newer RPG.

I played the original, but I heard the remake's good too.FFX feels very close to E33 in terms of how its world is designed and the feeling of adventure it gives you.Since you liked BG3, I highly recommend Dragon Age: Origins (same feeling of adventure as BG3) and DOS 1+2 (also a Larian game with huge amounts of freedom). I think Underrail is peak CRPG, fantastic exploration+combat system, but it's also autistic as fuck.If you liked the crazy combos you can pull off in E33 (auto death + AP on death + shield on death + auto revive) I recommend Bravely Default. The story kinda sucks, but the job combos you can pull off are fantastic. Make sure to play on hard. Avoid Bravely Default 2, it ruined what made the original good.
