>>737156021The leveling experience is great, there are very few games with similar scope of world, diversity and quality of environments, and worldbuilding. Classes are unique and have meaningful progression. There's tons of shit to do, different paths to choose, and secrets to find. There are definitely some annoying filler quests, frustrating drop rates, and level ranges with not enough questing content, it's not perfect by any means, but for the most part it's pretty damn good. The problem is a combination of people viewing endgame as the real content and therefore see leveling as something to be optimized which detracts from what is best experienced as something slow and immersive. And also the fact that people have done it so many times that it's just gotten stale. I love vanilla leveling, but it can burn you out, it's something I can only do once every few years. But there are people who have been playing it non-stop and have probably leveled upwards of 100 characters at this point, at least. At a certain point it wears thin.
