How do I remove this "What's New" shit from steam
you gotta mix ammonia and bleach op
>>737144020If you're complaining about the popup you're a retard. It's once per time you open steam and takes half a second to close.
>>737144213No I mean in the library itself
>>737144020Download the epic games store
>>737144213>don't complain about things just accept it
>>737144624Yes it's a fucking store and they offer you 1 singular advertisement per login. Don't complain about it like an entitled little faggot nigger. Fuck off to EGS or sign up for GOG so they can email you begging for donations pussy.
>>737144020Its in the settings retardbro
>>737144252No idea btw. I actively use the tab so I've never considered people didn't want news on their games. You'll likely need a custom UI or external software to do it.
>>737144773NTA, but where?even if i google it, i find guides on how to change the internal css files, and they're very recent guides, so it makes little sense for them to even exist if such option was in the settings
>>737145045could be the 2nd last option in interface
>>737145150the "Notify me about additions or changes to my games, new releases, and upcoming releases"?that only removes the occasional pop up when you open steam if there's newsim pretty sure op is referring to the giant "whats new" horizontal shelf that sits above your library, and that doesnt go away if you turn that option off
>>737144020You have to manually right click on every window and hit “stop showing news for this game” until they all go away, but it will still have them pop up sometimes. There’s no setting to just permanently disable it forever.
Reminder that game companies would rather pay people to find these non-issues to complain about than not actively fuck you over.
>>737145150It's not. That's for notifications in the upper right. There is no way to completely remove the What's New section without modifying the css. Most you can do is click on the gear next to it and select "Only show products updates not other types of events or news" which will reduce but not eliminate the clutter.
>>737145239ohi'll be honest I've never even registered that small menu to be therei've got my games sorted by recent and always a game selected so it never shows up
>>737144020Just set it to updates only.
>>737145439you have only show product updates turned off
>scroll down a bit>steam remembers the position>never see that shit again
>>737145478>hey you can use this setting>uh, but you don't have the setting enabled??
>>737145479thisyou have to do this each time steam starts, but this worksi'd rather have to do 3 scrolls down once a day than messing with css files resulting in steam not updating when it should(if you dont disable this, each time it'll update that file) and taking longer to launch cause the way to achieve the above is to fake a failed update
>>737145662>you have to do this each time steam startsi'll just always have a game selected then and use the library on the left
>>737145479Or just select one of your collections and it disappears.
>>737145868>backlog 64>keeps playing baba is youas god intended
The worst thing Valve ever did was forcing the client to be chrome-based slop and killing -no-browser.
>>737144020dunno, I don't mind it because it keeps the games I want to play around mid screen so it's easier to click
>>737146170you have steam running on a touch screen monitor?
>>737144213retard
