Infinite. I hoped and coped through 4 and 5 and was willing to give 343 one last chance - hoping they would finally get their head out of their ass after so many years of insults and criticism, but of course they managed to drop the ball once again. I have not interacted with any Halo media since shortly after Infinite's release and I don't plan on doing so as long as I'm alive. Halo is dead.

When I played the Halo 5 multiplayer beta around 2014/2015 and noticed that every hallmark sign of the franchise metamorphosing into a soulless clusterfuck hero shooter was now firmly entrenched in 343's gameplay ethos. Halo does not need climbing, dashing, sprinting, ground pounds and holographic iron sights on everything.

I was a PS2/3 owner during the peak Halo years so I never even started caring for Halo until after basically everyone else had stopped doing so. Played 1-3 on a used 360 I bought in 2017 and Had A Blast™. Never played the single player of Infinite because no co-op. I played the multiplayer for about a month and left because there was nothing to do. No forge, no customs, there were like, 6 playlists, no progression, all the armor unlocks were locked behind the eshop or a monthly subscription. They subceeded even my lowest expectations with Infinite. Kinda impressive actually.
Reach. I didn't like sprint in halo and didn't like the armor abilities, the inferior forge models, the worse stock maps and their over reliance on studio made forge maps in matchmaking. Halo forge community was already basically dead by that point and people still preferred customs in 3 because foundry and sandbox just looked better.
Local Pvp Halo 3 felt good with the homies. I'll never forget being smashed by the hammer and plasma grenaded. I suck at FPS but IDK I liked being creative with my kills in that game, I wasn't always the best but I chalk that out to having an astigmatism, really fucks with you in the last second for second Battle Rifle off who got the most and It's them fuck I died again. The campaign In Halo 3 was the proper send off, I felt like Bungie stopped caring after that point. Everything else felt cash grabby, jetpacks? I liked the snow level in Halo 3 the best. That was also the point I just stopped caring about Xbox and Microsoft shit in general and bought a PS3 to play the games that were on that system (few of them that were there at the time). It turned out to be a great investment since the PS3 got great games like Infamous and Demon Souls moving forward and decent to good multiplats meanwhile the 360 environment just died outside of CoD (and fighting games oddly enough). Im playing through all the LASO campaigns since I never got around to it before. Playing these campaigns again after so long, my opinion of them has be resolidified even after repproaching with an open mind.Campaign quality2 > 1 > ODST > Reach > 3Im not playing 4, 5 or Inf again because those games are ass.But man, among the Bungie games I could see switching 1 and 2 or ODST and Reach. But 3 is unequivocaly, abaolutely the worst of the Bungie Halos.The levels are boring as fuck, the overuse of Brutes as enemies sucks (theyre not as well designed enemies as any of the covenant), some of thr weapons and melees are inaccurate or awkward, equipment is lame.The localea are boring too, a forest, hallways of some base, Cortana flood area, etc.The writing is the worst of all Bungie Halo games. It plays like capeshit which syarted getting popular around that same time with Ironman.The Cortana and Gravemind cut ins are unskippable, annoying to look at, bring gameplay to a halt, and the dialogue for them is just as lame and corny as the Mass Effect 2 THIS HURTS YOU SHEPARD.Like kids who were 10 when it cane out and thr rrst of the normies jumping on 360 and Wii in 2007 as their first games and first Halo game are genuinely blinded by nostalgia.I never want to hear or entertain tge idea that 3 is anything but the worst Bungie made Halo ever again.
