>GOATED OST IN YOU'RE PATH
EEEEEELEEEEEEEEEEISOOOOON MEEEEEEEH>dudu dudu dudu dudu
Played HR last week and I kinda loved it. Now I'm just waiting for a Mankind Divided sale, because I checked and saw it's like 90% off fairly often.
ambientslop is the opposite of goated. Original Deus Ex sountrack moggs this cancuck fanfic.
>>737174728The music is actually the only thing from this game i can't rememberobviously except for Icarus
I remember bits and pieces of it. Mostly from the UNATCO theme, which I don't even recall hearing in the game itself.https://youtu.be/iCGBzrpxpsU?t=168
>>737174728>generic hollywood orchestral with brooding synthsBORING
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTHSZVN8i-w
No one remembers the OST for this. I had it muted within the first hour to play my own shit instead.
https://youtu.be/wVpVu4j-C_E?t=125the absolute peak
>It’s not the end of the world… but you can see it from hereThey dont slap them like they used to ngl.
>nothing but shitty generic cyberpunk synths followed by shitty generic hollywood drum action musicyeah... goated..
>>737174728It's completely forgettable compared to any of Alexander Brandons tracks.Nearly every single track he produced was memorable. The kind of thing of where you know the tracks origins the moment you hear it if you were blind tested. Human Revolution was so generic that I'd forget it in an instant.
>>737175738>skip to random segment>goat bleating>skip to a different segment>goat bleating>skip to another segment>goat bleating, with drumsI like my music with distinct riffs and melodies, not dogshit.
>>737174728i've played this for one (1) hour and I hate the stealth. Its dumb and homosexual
>>737176107Guess the soundtrack really is GOATED after all.
>>737174728Just added DE:HR's OST to my Friday game OST playlist today and listened to it already. Also in the playlist: Hades, Hades 2, Age of Mythology, Katana Zero, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Graveyard Keeper, Octopath Traveler, Heros of Might and Magic 4, Stellaris, Stardew Valley, Rimworld, Claire Obscure: Expedition 33, and more. Lasts me all night to mid-day Saturday where I usually go to sleep. My grandma likes listening to my playlist saying I've a really good taste in music and listen to relaxing and non-violent music. My grandpa likes to identify the instruments used in every track and name them as they start playing. My mom does not care for it.
>>737176203>Heros of Might and Magic 4hell yea bro
>>737175090The intro cinematic had some memorable music.
>>737174728What happened to McCann anyway? Dude made a bunch of good vidya OSTs in 2010s then he kinda went off the grid after that.
Also Brandons tracks on Unreal 98 also gives off those same awesome atmosphere of Deus Ex.Hell even Jesper Kyds work on Hitman was more memorable than this bland crap.
>>737176391He did music for the abhorrent abortion that was borderlands 3 then fucked off to Asia somewhere and dropped off the face of the planetHe worked on supervive, another liveservice abortion, and hasn't been heard of sinceHe has no social media any more, he just torpedoed his career and disappeared; honestly I don't even know how he financially supports himself, I guess Spotify somehowReal shame he is so fragile, could've been the next Jeremy Soule

>>737176839>I don't even know how he financially supports himselfAnon over here living in the world where your career is chosen at birth and if you ever abandon it you can never be employed again
For me it is one of the best soundtracks of all time unironically. I listen to it while wagecuckinghttps://youtu.be/hOHzm1G6eEk
>>737174728Are HR and MD even worth playing if I've never touched them?
>>737177924They're okay games.
>>737177924They are fine games from a simpler time.
>>737174728I enjoyed this game but I literally can't recall a single track
>>737174728I think it is time to replay DEUS EX Human Revolution.Should I play the original version or the Director's Cut? I own both versions on Steam.
>>737174728>Goatedfr fr no cap ong
>>737178815Director's Cut, find a mod which restores the KINO filter
>>737175514what the hell i never heard this or it's just memory holed for me
>>737178815I didn't know there was an original version, is it dark souls 2 where it's two totally different games?
>>737178815Director's Cut with nostalgia goggles (yellow) filter is the way to go.
>>737175648That's ridiculous. The music for this game was a huge part of its atmosphere if you really muted it to play your own shit I'm highly disappointed.. this is why I need to stop coming to /v/ you honestly brought me down a little bit
>>737174728I was playing AI Limit recently and if you played its boss tracks and HR's soundtrack, I wouldn't be able to tell you which was which.
>>737179470Mostly visuals (slight downgrade in effect/performance because different devs + code is based on the WiiU port), removal of the gold filter which kind of ruins the artistic vision. There are bandaid fixes for bossfights in DE.The DLC campaign is also integrated into the base game which means you have to complete it every time in a playthrough.
>>737179470The Director's Cut is apparently nearly the same game, but without the nostalgic piss filter. Boss fights have also been improved.
>>737174728Adaaaaaaaam! I do like the soundtrack son..! It's just Alexander Brandon's original OST is better! Look... if it means that much to you, I'll play it on YouTube right now.
>>737179945I did read it in his voice. Shame they didn't get the VA for MD.
Funny how the ONE game where the piss filter actually makes sense and actually adds to the atmosphere is the one where the devs bothered to remove it.
>>737180464wow so different
>>737180660If it doesn't look different then why remove it? Check mate flat earther!
Mankind Divided > Human RevolutionYes, I will die on this hill.Yes, all of you are wrong.
>>737174728The entire series has an amazing soundtrack.
>>737180834WHY DOES THIS GAME LOOK SO FUCKING GOOD?
>>737179746I don't remember ambient music in any game
>>737180919Actual art direction instead of garbage 7th gen piss filter that subhuman zillennials gush nostalgic over.
>>737174728Simply a modern classic, nothing else like it
>>737180919Because it hides the textures well. That's also why so many people here like arkham knight
I still had a full head of hair when this released
>>737174728It's no random rpgmaker h-game ost tier but decent enough.
>>737175514it sometimes plays on the radio between the guy that is constantly talking about a bunch of useless shit
>>737181367>Game is already a decade old>Game looks better than anything released so far this year>Game can go toe-to-toe on graphics, not just art direction, with AAAslop that comes out right fucking now and win.MAKE IT MAKE SENSE

>>737189034>Nah man I really love the part when it picks up the paceFair enough, but the intro and outro are cash money as well. While we're glazing Deu Sex: HR violation, I wanna commend Michael McCann for his work on XCOM OST as well:>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRXl39yRc_w

>>737180834When it comes to the gameplay and art direction, I fully agree. Mankind Divided comes very damn close to what I would want a modern Deus Ex game to look and play like. As far as pacing, writing and narrative go, it's kind of shit. The characters at TF29 feel underutilized and Alex is a bore, being in Prague for most of the game takes away the sense of globetrotting and plot progression and the climax is infamously rushed.
>>737190585Everything about how MD played was superior. It's just a shame it had nowhere as fun to get through as Hengsha or the Detroit streets.

>>737181561Whatever its doing more games should do it, because despite being 10 years old it looks better than most games coming out today. I'd say only Cyberpunk 2077 surpasses it.
JENSEN
What are some other kino atmospheric osts like deus ex hr and mankind dividedI already went through michael mccans entire discography ( its pretty small )
>>737174810Its good, just go in knowing MD is half a game due to squenix demanding they tack on a multiplayer thing and fucking up the development.
>>737175780I... agree. Still a good ost though.
>>737191685>What are some other kino atmospheric osts like deus ex hr and mankind dividedDepends. What game genres are you cool with?
>>737191965Mostly rpgs
>>737191685If you mean that specific kind of sound, there's not a whole lot. But I personally love the OSTs of SMT3 and IV, DMC 1-4, American Mcgee's Alice, Thief, Bloodborne, Morrowind and Shadow of the Colossus.I think RUINER has a really good soundtrack that kind of has a similar vibe. Maybe Drowned God too for something morose. Hard to think of something that's 1:1, though.

>>737181686It's called being competent, anon. Some weird thing from a distant past. You wouldn't understand, probably.
>>737192446you dont have to be mean to him
>>737192001Well shit, my RPG pedigree is not that good. Maybe the Shadowrun trilogy might tickle your fancy, if you are OK with the gameplay. >>737181686Yeah, aesthetics means a lot to me, and HR is one of my all time favourite games because of its aesthetics. I just loved exploring the levels and hubs and just taking my time to just look around. I couldn't get enough of HR.
>>737193525he did some tracks for mankind divided before leaving
>>737174810Every game on GoG is free though
>>737174810there's zero reason not to pirate these, the devs are long gone and the IP is owned by some random company
>>737194446HR was half finished. what's the point of that beautiful snow area if it's empty and confusing
>>737194957>some random companyembracer is not very random
Mankind Divided is such a near miss. Its so disappointing to think what it could have been if it had come out outside of the peak woke era and had a little more time. It was quite good but it could have been one of the greatest games ever.
>>737174810Epic gave it away a while back. You might already have it.
>>737195280 (me)oops i thought we were talking about MD. i'm rarted
>>737195462I thought you were talking about Panchaea, lol. The comment still kinda works anyway because Panchaea was definitely half baked.
>>737195660Yeah even in the dev commentaries shipped with the director's cut they talk about how they wanted this really elaborate sequence of events, setpieces, etc and downsized what would be 4-5 levels to 1. Shame, though it still panned out decent enough I think. The real shame is how much Square gutted MD afterwards.
The composers for DX1 remade the soundtrack, freed from the technical constraints they had to make the original one underhttps://www.youtube.com/live/BDyV7CyU5ZQ?si=SGQu2JNJGvNuo5h-

>>737196810Sure I hear where the old theme is now, it just has so much less impact. It's a nice track that feels like all buildup.
>>737195907I hate it honestly. it's not as good.
>>737197272Yeah, it's kinda shit.
>>737196430>Both gamesI like how the Last Autumn theme sounds almost defiant, which is really what the games are about:>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhgvMSYFu0g
>>737174728I like the OG DX OST a lot but the HR OST is pure atmosphere kino! It's so memorable especially compared to the MD OST.
>>737194684For a mode no one playedBut they weren't nearly as good
I love HR but I have never gotten the hype around its soundtrack. The original game's soundtrack utterly mogs it. There isn't a single track on MD or HR that comes anywhere near The Synapse (Hong Kong theme).
>>737195907>>737197272and this is why having limitations is better
>>737200981half of why the original is so good was that they kept running into roadblocks on what was possible to do and coming up with excellent on the fly ideas in their place.
