Honest opinion of OoT Master Quest?
first 3 dungeons are cool, but the rest are just a lot more annoying versions of the originals.
>>737175431i think oot in general is pretty meh. not a fan of 3D Zeldas.
>>737175431Not very good. Literal definition of a romhack but official.
>>737175431Fuck you.
Overhyped, really. Seeing more dangerous enemies earlier and 'le deeper dungeons' doesn't make the game any better but thankfully no worse.
>>737175535the cows in fish dungeon were dumb
>>737175604Fuck you.
>>737175620Fuck you
>>737175431It has some cool stuff both early and late. Worth a playthrough if you liked OoT for sure. However it must be said that every single Song-of-Time block puzzle is complete dogshit.
>>737175649You are cool.
>>737175746>Ask for honest opinion>Get mad when receiving honest opinion
I'm out.
The child dungeons including the well are all pretty cool but the adult dungeons all basically consist of spamming song of time non-stop to complete puzzles and it gets old fucking fast. The 3DS version's addition of mirror world and double damage is more interesting than the revamped dungeons honestly. It really threw me off guard with how disorienting flipping the map could be.
>>737175431I have actually never played the original Ocarina of Time. I got this and just played Master Quest because it sounded like the best version.
>>737176520that shit can hurt your brain i didn't know they did that
I want to finally play the Zelda gamesStarting with the first one but I have no idea what to doHow do I play it? Do I just go to every zone until I find something? I played the NES Mario games before this and while it was also hard it wasn't this obtuse
>>737176783DKR is kinda infamous for both mirroring the tracks and making the AI harder.
Tedious, officialized romhack bundled only in an attempt to make up for Wind Waker sales.
>>737175431interesting but I wished the overworld was redesigned as well. at times the dungeons felt somewhat easier ngl. its more like a remix than a hardmode.
>>737176991Diddy Kong Racing? Yeah. Not a lot of people are even aware that the mirror mode also completely changes the silver coin locations too. If you've ever done a silver coin challenge in the normal game and thought "wow, that would have been a really nasty spot to hide a coin, thank fuck they didn't actually put one there" then boy do I have bad news for you in mirror mode.
>>737175431I prefer it over the vanilla playthrough because it constantly throws tougher enemies at you which is more fun, such a lot of the cooler enemies in vanilla are used very sparingly. Puzzles are a little bizarre but that's okay, they challenge me more. Whenever I want to replay the game I want to play masterquest.
>>737175431I only played it one time and quit at forest temple. It was just more of the same, good enough.
>>737175850We're not the OP though, who is the one who asked for an honest opinion. I can be upset about the opinion, so fuck you.
>>737176891the NES game came with a map, so go get that from the internet
>>737176693That's kind of neat. Did the puzzles seem random to you? Playing the vanilla will feel like a big downgrade combat wise.
>>737177651>We're
>>737177723Yes I was letting you know I'm a different anon that took issue with the honest (shitty) opinion.
>>737177571this is one of tiptup's greatest moments
>>737175535this
>>737175431Essentially a worthless hackjob that only exists because of previously scrapped DD features. >>737175620Actual ROMhacks exist that are far more advanced and worthwhile than it and then some many times over. It just moves a bunch of object spawns around because that's all they ended up making possible, it feels arbitrary and barely increases the difficulty or substance. There's basically no reason for MQ to be included into the new remake except for vestigial/throwback reasons. They have comeplete freedom to provide actually fully new dungeon remixes, so there's no reason not to do that now.
>>737177671Don't. Use the Japanese map instead. I'm not kidding, this was the intended way to play and will result in a more worthwhile experience.
