>it gets good on your third playthrough bro
It filters troons that don't want to play as 9S so it's pretty based tbqhwy
>>737182162It only gets good once you get to play 9S
I couldnt be bothered to finish the first. Massively overrated game by every aspect. If it didnt have the big booty android it would have immediately fallen into obscurity just like the other nier games
>>737182162>doesn't actually get good, people are just impressed by the last 10 minutes
>>737182259>I'm so straight I want to be a sissy femboyumm okay
>>737182162>it filters youMaybe that's why it's a niche with gooners and fans. No one else plays it cause it's filtering people.
>>737182162No, it starts good and gets better.Your tastes are just shit.
>>737183871You opened the bag without even eating the meal. You literally skipped out on the whole game because you have the attention span of a goldfish
>>737182162this is only True in NieR Replicant since you have to repeat half of the game 3 times, automata have you repeating the prologue 2 times, and play the rest of the game from different perspectives.
>>737184142Let me guess, youre also a crimson desert fan? >its gets good after 20 hours!Thats not an attention span issue. I just dont care for shitty game design that wastes my time to artificially make me feel more invested in your slop.Besides, the combat is braindead and the constant genre swapping minigame gimmick is asinine
>>737184142I completed Nier 1
i dropped the game around the time the area desert opened
>>737182162yes
>>737182162I played Replicant, but it was so good I can't see myself playing Automata
>>737182162You retard. A-E is one playthrough. The credits are chapter delineators. You fucking idiot.
>>737183492
>>737182162it's one playthrough from A-E idiot
>>7371821629s should have the same uniform as 2b
>>737183890The ending is super disappointing. The game is practically empty but for the big set pieces. 6/10 at best, but... it's still relatively unique. I had an ok time, but it really is shallow, and the end of A was retarded with the OH I CAN'T BELIEVE WE'LL LOSE THESE 2 HOURS WE'VE SPENT TOGETHER AND THEN IMMEDIATELY RESURRECT BACK ON THE SHIP, HOW TRAGIC come on dude are you 12.
You have not beaten the game even once, unless you get the Ending E.
>>737184485Nta, agree on nier, disagree on cd. But I know it can be a matter of personal taste. Cd at least has fun gameplay and the world is pretty to look at.
>>737185382I honestly don't understand how shallow and soulless (You) people can be, and still brag about it online.Everything you just typed is objectively false. And the very ending is one of the most emotional, life changing experiences I've had these past < 40 years.
>>737185240Pleb taste desu desu desu
>>737182162This is bait. Game was fun from the start. 2B is fun, 9S is fun and so is A2.
>>737185526NTADid you notice anon is describing the ending to the first playthrough? Didn't even beat the game lmao
>>737185526Don't admit to that kind of thing at... fewer than 40 years of age, apparently? Failed middle school math as well, huh. It all makes sense.
>>737185604I did. A-E. My complaint was just that the first route's ending is propped up on artificial drama and has no stakes whatsoever.
>>737185692Disgustingly filtered.
>>737185604>Did you notice anon is describing the ending to the first playthrough?I did, and even that stuff he got wrong. And he copes by not even addressing the points:>>737185615
>>737185240Quite gay, even for /v/.
>>737182162Yea. One of my top of the decade but rrplayingbthevswmevareas a fazzilikn yimes was not fun.
>>737182162It has the best opening for a game ive ever played, but yeah, fuck playing the game multiple times. Just watch the anime if you care
>>737182162It doesn't, the third playthrough was marginally better but still mediocre
>>737185692>My complaint was just that I'm stupid
>in order to save humanity that is dead we must kill ourselves and make it seem like that the enemies that we are made of did itStill don't get it.
>>737182162it gets good the second you start itits going to destroy you by the third playthrough
>>737186695Made a lot of sense when I played it high
You're thinking about how much you want to * * * * 9S, aren't you?
You can tell that the people like OP and those that agree with OP haven't actually played the game. They don't even have to 100% it like I did and get all the endings and whatnot, but they literally did not engage with any aspect of the game if they think it's bad. Sure some aspects could be better, like level scaling for the enemies as your level gets higher so combat doesn't get piss easy (and there's a mod that fixes that on PC now too) but if you think anything about theis game is bad, you're just a filtered retard, plain and simple.
>>737184485It was good immediately. You can just say you don't like action games.
>>737186695>>737187626That's not the story. Seems like a lot of people were only looking at 2B's lovingly sculpted ass.
>>737185240Agreed
>>737191681I was going to make a joke about how they were actually looking at A2's ass but I even doubt they got that far. Legitimately, the only people that outright hate this game haven't played it. It doesn't mean everyone that played it liked it, but the complaints about the game are always the most bullshit nonsense that you'd expect out of someone that's just being contrarian for contrarianism's sake rather than having an actual problem in the game.
>>737182162Genuinely one of the ugliest games of all times. I could not get past how bad it looks
>>737194203Can you explain it to me? As far as I can tell they wanted to destroy all machines and the yorha for some reason I can't make sense of. Preserve what they had on the moon, which was never under threat, and dont even seem concerned about the existing androids on earth despite refusing to use real ai which supposedly they would have, because the yorha were meant to be disposable and it was seen as amoral. If that's all correct, then why? To what end and why destroy the yorha? I should point out I haven't played replicant or drakenguard so I might be missing some context.
>>737194825> As far as I can tell they wanted to destroy all machinesBecause they were made by the alien invaders that made ran the humans off the surface.>and the yorha for some reason I can't make sense of>To what end and why destroy the yorha? Because they would learn the truth that humans have been dead even before the war started. It's why 2B/2E was made to kill 9S over and over again, so that when he would find out that everything was bullshit (and he would because he's a top of the line scanner model), she would execute him before he could get the word out.>Preserve what they had on the moon, which was never under threat, and dont even seem concerned about the existing androids on earthBecause the androids needed a god to believe in even if it was a false god> despite refusing to use real ai which supposedly they would have, because the yorha were meant to be disposable and it was seen as amoral. The androids were made in the form of their human masters. A god in the shape of any other type of being just wouldn't do. You can't relate to someone and something that isn't like you on a very deep level.Replicant/Gestalt and Drakengard are barely related to Automata other than taking place in the same world thousands of years later in Replicant and Gestalt's case and having some familiar characters, peoples and places pop back up and be mentioned. It's extremely distant from Drakengard other than that game setting up the events of the first Nier via Drakengard's Ending E.I do think the narrative of Automata is a bit all over the place at times compared to the first Nier, but it did cover those aspects of the game very well in its themes. The whole point of the game is to point out the mind games people play to dehumanize and other people that aren't like them, especially when they haven't really done much to deserve it and how that estranges us from our common humanity.
>>737194203>>737189028I just found it boring. That's it. Perhaps didn't help that I was going in expecting a GOAT game but it was just boring. The intro shooter section was alright and then it just plateaued into repetitive third person melee combat open world quest marker gameplay. I don't play a load of those types of games so it's likely that I lack the repertoire to understand what's unique or innovative about this one but that doesn't change the fact that I am someone who has played it a reasonable enough amount to expect to have gotten some enjoyment out of it by now and I really haven't.I read up on what people like about the game in order to get the gist of what I'm missing. I understand there is a lot of room for expression in the combat, but the game doesn't disclose nor necessitate any of it, I just walked through spamming the gun for the most part and hitting light and heavy attacks as needed and ran into zero issues doing so, which reduces the expressive combat system down to a sandbox toy rather than a gameplay mechanic. The shooting segment was quite fun so it's a good job I had to play through it twice before I could save because there hasn't been any more of that for the last 8 hours.1/2
>>7371976402/2Supposedly the art direction is really good. I just don't see it. I won't go on too much about it being one of the most poorly rendered games by contemporary standards that I've ever seen, straight up looks like a late gen 6 or early gen 7 game in parts, but even the art style itself has be puzzled as to what I'm not seeing. I do like the robot design, but it's just one single design for the vast majority of enemies with variation in size. The world design has scarcely anything interesting to see at all, I get that a post-apocalyptic city ruin is supposed to be bleak but even the industrial landscapes look about as generic as you could get. The two main characters at this point, if you remove the blindfolds, have nothing remarkable about their appearance at all.The writing I probably haven't got far enough to appreciate but I don't feel like playing anymore. All I can say is that none of it has remotely intrigued me in the short 12 hours I've played. I don't care about any of the characters, if you can even call them that at this stage, I'm not curious about the inevitable reveal that the robots are sentient and the various philosophical questions which will unfold around their relationship with androids and perspectives on war, and I can't be bothered to spend any more time waiting for the good bit to start.
>>737182162I don't think I ever want to replay Automata because of 9S. One of the most annoying characters ever to exist. Sent that dumb fuck to the moon for eternal suffering.
>>737197691Do you read?
>>737197281I picked up on and enjoyed those themes, it was really just the endings that confuse me because they aren't really well explained in the game. Particularly >Because the androids needed a god to believe inI don't ever recall any themes of that in the game, though maybe I missed it, and it seemed like they were content believing that the humans were not coming back. Generally they just wanted safety from the machines, which is fair. I get that 9s would be able to find out the secrets, but then why not just let the 2b program run it's course instead of destroying all of them? It seemed implied to me that he was the only one capable other than the commander. At least that's why they implied, otherwise the program was kind of pointless if they were just going to take care of it themselves.
>>737197691I wasn’t blown away by the bulk of the game either, just mildly entertained. There’s a lot of charm in the goofy ship sections and camera shifts, but most of all in the side quests. Complaints are valid, but you can’t say anything until you get the actual ending. It catches you off guard and adds a world of depth to the characters that you completely missed until then. That’s why it’s so highly regarded.
