And of course I'm making the same choices with the same build, as always. Magic's back /v/ros

My first playthrough took 127 hours and I did things that felt natural to me and got the witcher ciri ending and stayed with Yen.
Then I started another playthrough, with mods this time, completely different build and intentionally made all the opposite choices. It's surprisingly difficult to be a fucking idiot on purpose. Alchemy Rend build is bonkers though, random enemies die with one hit and every boss dies on the 9th or 10th hit because Rend takes all of my stamina and deals 10% of enemy max hp as bonus damage

what about witcher 1 and 2? yeah most choices are structured in such a way that you choose between what geralt himself would or could choose, at least in witcher 3. in the first two games you can play geralt in more ways but even then you're still a pre established character

I was planning to do a playthrough where Geralt values self-preservation to some degree, for example, not sticking his neck out to fuck with omnipotent time demons to defend some random shitter

yeah that's his dilemma throughout all of the books. he knows that risking your life and getting involved often doesn't lead to anything good but since he's a hero at heart he can't help himself, which in the end leads to his death. it's a real viable roleplay option, since he's got his memory back by the time of witcher 3 i don't think he'd want to risk himself anymore

Have you played Witcher 1 and 2? What do you think about them?
Seems like everyone skipped the first 2 games and went to Witcher 3

NTA, Witcher 2 has a good story but the gameplay sucks. I think it's worth it. About 35 or so hours long. 1 sucks. It's unspeakable dogshit jank, but again the story isn't bad.

i think witcher 1 has serviceable gameplay. if anything it's too simple and easy

I played W3 and 1 and really enjoyed them. I've started 2 and the combat is so bad I'm about to quit.
