I didn't hate Tears of the Kingdom nearly as much as everyone else did, and I think it's better than Breath of the Wild. That being said, I understand the hate, as it basically is an updated version of the first map.

Maybe I like it cause I thought screwing around in the depths was always fun.

Woke how?

I don't remember any gays in that game. Also you can't even dress up as a Gerudo woman anymore
>>

no one thinks gerudo link is woke tho

so glad you "people" will never be able to mod switch 2 games

Aren't there mods just to fuck with Purah's dress?

The gerudo segment in BotW is a classic crossdressing comedy scenario and wokies hate it for it, Link's general autistic stance, demeanor and expression make it completely ridiculous that anybody outside of gerudo femcels would believe he is a girl, and the game literally lets you call the guy who gives you the costume a man to his face.
In fact, the entire gerudo segment is pretty based because it's all about how 99% of the gerudo hate their shitty femcel society and can't wait to leave and find a husband.

Wokebros love it for all of the porn it created.

Maybe I like it cause I thought screwing Zelda in her fat stinky ass with those perky tits slapping around would be hot as fuck!

BotW is a good template for a better game. TotK wasn't it.
>>
BOTW was fresh and exploring the world felt fun and new
TOTK has better mechanics and a better narrative, the thing that held it back the most was that the majority of the map wasn't new. The underground ended up feeling quite repetitive and there wasn't enough variety to keep it intresting over the whole game, but the sky islands were all great. Theyre both very good games and each of them does a few different things better than the other

Totk didn't get the recognition it deserved. Midwit take is it's dlc, meanwhile it's actually a 10.5/10 2nd quest to both.
>>
>>737194691
I don't like Tears because it got rid of exploration.
Want to go somewhere? Build something and fly there. Warp to a nearby tower or sky island and glide there.
There's never an actual reason to just walk around and explore. And horses are entirely useless, seemingly an afterthought, just there because BotW had them.
>>
>>737201710
no one is forcing you to build flying cycles
>>
>>737194691
With both BotW and th is I feel like there's zero reason to engage with like 99% of the game since it's all pointless really
Outside of getting additional health and maybe a bow, you're still best off just using the basic black bitch weapons outside of some bosses
>>
>>737201894
No one's forcing me to play the game? Amazing.
That doesn't change the actual issues with it.
>>
>>737202181
It's not an issue if you don't do it. The problem with modern gamers is that they rely on what the internet zeitgeist tells them how to play a game instead of just playing as the creators intended which is explore and find your own fun.
>>
>>737201921
Now apply this to the original Zelda and tell us how it's different.
>>
>>737202278
What?
I played the game myself. The internet didn't do it for me.
The problems in the game do exist. They don't magically disappear when you just don't interact with them.
>>
>>737202332
ASsuming you mean Zelda 1 (granted I playe it only a few years ago) still pushes you to explore for getting items that matter like the sword, blue ring etc

MY point is Botw/TotK feels more like th e game was made in such a way to appeal to openworld fags as opposed to actually having a proper setting like most zelda games
>>
>>737201710
Exploring with a tiny hoverbike is the same as exploring with a horse, and there's nothing stopping you from walking one place to the next to gather materials
>>
>>737194691
>as it basically is an updated version of the first map.
That's just weak reasoning. Quantity over quality doesn't work when that quantity is not of the same quality. Both the depths and the sky islands are less interesting worldspaces than botw's surface map. They're repetitive, monotonous and filled with asset reuse. Like the depths basically only has one biome, and you'll constantly find the same sky islands copy pasted.
>>
>>737202850
Of course you can walk if you choose to. I'd never say you couldn't. I'm saying the game discourages that by giving you far better options to get to your destination.
Why would I climb that mountain when there's a tower that launches me to the sky not that far away?
>>
>>737194691
I liked the depths too although I think we're in a minority on that. and I thought the caves added a lot to the overworld. recall and ascend were great abilities that I liked more than BOTW's. the "dungeons" were marginally better too. other than that...meh. I didn't care for the building mechanic and basically didn't use it unless necessary. and everything else was basically just a retread of the first game. I enjoyed it, put close to 200 hours into it, but I can't really separate it from BOTW because they're foundationally the same game. so even though I liked the game, there is still a sense of disappointment that I waited 6 years to basically replay BOTW with what felt like a DLC expansion tacked on. maybe if I had engaged more with the building mechanic it would have felt more unique, but I just didn't find it interesting.
>>
>>737203284
For me, most of the exploration came from gathering materials for great fairies (the ones I couldn't duplicate)

I don't know. I UNDERSTAND the hate, I just don't share it.

I did finish my pirated copy of BotW on PC but it was underwhelming and for the most part boring. The only thing keeping me from quitting were the shrines.
Cutscenes and story were gay, art and music are alright, combat is dogshit, puzzles are top tier, open world with basically nothing in it, exploration is a waste of time.
When I pirated TotK also on PC I got mad and quitted upon discovering that there was 3 empty worlds, one underground, on on the surface and one in the sky, not just one like in the previous title, I just said to myself that I don't have time for this crap, I could be playing many other great games instead.

>Why would I climb that mountain when there's a tower that launches me to the sky not that far away?
Because climbing that mountain is fun? You enjoy video games a lot more when you realize you can just play the way you find fun instead of feeling the need to optimize everything.

That’s where you’re wrong, son.

Good game design usually means the optimal way to play a game and the fun way to play are aligned

There are plenty of disappointing games that come and go without much comment on them. Tears of the Kingdom is frequently called amazing and spectacular, so people who played it and didn't like it are spurred on to an extreme reaction, but extremely negative in this case.
>>
>>737205587
Every game that I've never played is a perfect 10/10 because of magic.
>>
>>737194691
Dont overthink it, the fags who don't like it are nostalgia poisoned and put their first playthroughs on a pedestal, they have no idea of good games.
>>
>>737202850
I don't get why people complain about the hoverbike breaking the game, it chews through power like crazy so it isn't really practical until you upgrade that a bunch, meaning you either go grinding Zonite or explore normally until you have enough power so it doesn't run out of juice in 5 seconds.
>>
>>737205818
>it chews through power like crazy
It's one of the most efficient zonai contraptions you can make. It's just two fans

>>
>>737205818
Because it's not the only problem. The wings alone are a problem. Rockets are also a huge issue. Hell, even just high-altitude paragliding makes a ton of the map worthless.

We need a new circle of hell for this level of degeneracy. How could you enjoy that fucking slog?

How in the hell is the depths similar to an old school dungeon crawling area?
