In a vacuum I love Paimon as a character, and her relationship with the Traveler is adorable (the first time Genshin ever made me tear-up was when she was terrified after thinking she lost the Traveler during the Sumeru AQ) but I can't help but resent her place in the story since she's the single biggest reason why the Traveler has barely any characterization. She says 90% of the dialogue that the Traveler is supposed to be saying, robbing us of any chances to see the Traveler's personality or character development. Even the Traveler's profile section in the Character menu is literally just conversations with Paimon. These conversations are entertaining and they do show a lot of the Traveler's personality (such as how they love teasing and banter) but it's still absurd that even here, 50% of the focus and screentime is taken up by Paimon, The game treats her like the protagonist more than the protagonist. They are getting better about this, but it's still a huge issue and they still seem reluctant to actually let the Traveler be a real character who says and does things on their own.
