Just played through re2 remake as my first ever re game (only Leon’s first run) and it was really underwhelming considering all the praise it gets. Backtracking through all the rooms multiple times to find the one item you missed made it annoying/tedious rather than scary/tense. Zombies appearing out of thin air just to make sure you don’t have much ammo or ease of map travel, and the guy stalking you just waiting outside the safe room doors so you have to wait a bit before going back out was just boring. Overall the longer it when on it got less scary and turned into a slog. Then some of the worst boss fights I’ve played since the combat isn’t the main focus in these games. Are the other modern ones unlike this game and worth playing? Or are these games just not for me
