I enjoyed both for different reasons, I wouldn't say one definitely shits on the other to be honest.
WuWa has improved in these areas over time, but I think genshin still mogs when it comes to exploration, making the areas look pretty, the music (I believe early Rinascita was a fluke with these things) and events.
Hoyo also handles one of my main dislikes about gachaslop better, which is occasionally giving some love to older characters and regions even if it is mostly through events.
WuWa however mogs when it comes to combat, end-game challenge and I think genshin character design fell off hard after Mondstad with a rare exception every now and then while WuWa comes with more consistently good looking designs. It also has a less jewish gacha system and I liked the echo system which makes it much easier to build characters due to the ability to farm the overworld.

HSR has to be the lowest effort gacha around and it used to top the charts for a very long time, even now I'm quite sure it's the most profitable gacha considering how little money goes in compared to what it brings

If you're wondering what I've been up to, I've been testing WuWa on my brand new S26 Ultra and with a GameSir G8 controller, the game runs buttery smooth with good 1% lows and averages. Internal resolution is still lower than the QHD of my phone's screen resolution, but honestly not too bad.

At the climax of the Natlan WQs, you have the option to destroy Natlan and it's inhabitants with a superweapon that turns the entire region into an ever-burning primal flame.
Mizuki's SQ nearly sees the rebirth of an ancient race of dream-dwelling monsters who threaten to afflict of Inazuma with nightmares.
Nahida's 2nd SQ involves traveling across two regions with a group of talking, shape-shifting mushrooms so that you can save their homeland which is actually an entire world contained within one of the ancient dragons who once ruled the world, who is now dying of Abyssal corruption.
In the most recently released WQ, you literally go to heaven and hell and meet people from all across Teyvat's history culminating in a fight with one of the servants of the God of Space.

I've dropped the game when Varesa released and none of what you said felt like it was actually happening because it's just black screens and the same animations playing on loop. And it's not about wanting the game to turn into cinematic slop but I read a lot of VNs and they're all a lot more involved. Same for small RPG makers games like Black Souls, I can remember most of the thing I've done in this game because the narration and the presentation are good enough to makes me care about what's happening

The way you're describing the quests sound really cool but in-game it just feels like a narrative fart. It unironically would've been more immersive as a 2D sidescroller at this point. I love good world and stories, the ascension to Solaris in Xenogears still resonates with me a ton to this day, but Genshin, despite being a modern game, just can't make anything feel tangible and memorable. Must be a problem with build up, presentation, characters, dialogues...tons of different elements that can even make the coolest plot idea feel bland.

The only metric I consider WuWa better than Genshin is because WuWa has cutscene skip.
Both games suffer the same major problem of obscene bloat by having two or three characters stand around and dump exposition that takes 10-30 minutes to read and can be summarized in four sentences. It's worse when it stops, makes you warp to a different part of the map, only to trigger another talking cutscene with no gameplay. There are good pieces of story worth reading but these are quite rare.
I'm not partically wowed by either game's gameplay because all the cool characters and builds are locked behind a sub 1% gacha with coinflips and weapon banners.
