I enjoyed the game a lot but the ending requirements and how "NG+" works really kills my motivation to 100% it. They said they are patching in new ending CGs so hopefully they add more QoL updates to actually make it easier to clean up whatever you missed. It's no wonder the game got delayed so many times, they dug themselves into a giant mess with how they wanted the game to work.

Cheap emotional manipulation aside(absolutely everyone and everything is miserable), the biggest thing that bothered me about this game was the dogshit localization. I don't know the original language this was made in, but the Japanese -> English is like a different script. I think they changed like everyone else's name other than the main characters(yes, even his wife). A lot of the sentences are completely different.I wish this was more of just 2 of them on the journey, instead of this boring ass nakama slop. Whole thing left a bad taste, but it got cleansed in the first 30 minutes of Pragmata.Also them putting costumes behind paid DLC is certainly a choice, you only get backpacks during the game.

Shadowlands daughter gives Ren her form, but you also have young Eugene talking to her actual spirit before even starting his journey. There's videos up with the true ending now, it's shit. The spiritualism takes away too much from the story. I enjoyed all the grounded elements and in the end the stupid mythology takes front and center for a bad ending that doesn't give eugene enough closure.

Turns out the different endings are all just slight variations of the same ending, that's underwhelming, but I forgive it because I liked the story.

If they add an neding where Eugene reunites with Ren and Ren I'll give it a second playthrough.
