I don't really understand how you can "grow out of enjoying video games".Whatever games you liked, there's probably hundreds out there that are somewhat similar to it so and you'd never have enough time in your life to finish them all. >>737237698I just started playing old shit and indie titles.Sure you eventually run of out old shit, and finding decent indies can take days of scraping through garbage/clones, but it tends to be worth it compared to a lot of newer releases from the larger industry.
>>737240316Well, I lost my father two years ago and been using art to cope with it. Turns out I really love it and wish I had started sooner but it is what it is. And yes, research is very important, I like reading narrative theory, philosophy and expose myself to stories that resonate with that I like to write about. For example, I absolutely love Shadow Hearts 1 and 2, and so, I tend to gravitate towards that sort of narrative and character writing, but mixing it with my own feeling and life experiences instead.And if you want to draw, I really recommend this book, it might sound it's comics focused only but it touches a lot of fundamentals that are important no matter the style you want to go for.
