Minecraft just got a super kino mod that adds physics and the ability to make airships and cars>but valk skies 2this is better because it actually is usable in survival and has better performance https://youtu.be/SO8tpWfZjGk?si=fejRZkSGp8JlSohE
Does this fix survival minecraft just being kinda boring?
>>737240558probably i dont usually play vanilla or just one mod at a time
>>737240480Nice, I've been waiting for this to come out for a while
>>737241991My target is in sight
>>737242858He didn't make it :(
>>737241991>>737242858>>737242972I have a thing for building massive airships and aircraft how far can you take it in this game? How well is it implemented?
>>737244194came out yesterday so we dont know yetwould be a good expiment to fuck around in creative theres block fill commands so you can just shit out some big cubes
>>737240480The problem with Minecraft is that there's nothing to do even with hundreds of mods. You'll eventually hit the 'so, what now?' moment. I wish this game had a strong goal to work toward, not through mods, and not counting that crude dragon one the default game has. After all these years, the game still feels like an early access game.
>>737245249interesting takein your opinyon, is there a specific sandbox builder game that avoids the 'so, what now?' part? with or without mods
>>737245456Terraria has a clear goal throughout the whole game, so it kind of feels like a journey. Minecraft, on the other hand, tends to hit that 'so, what now?' moment way too early especially without mods. It's got a similar problem to Project Zomboid once you build a base and get stable, there's nothing left to do. It feels pretty similar to that. With Terraria, even after you've built a base and stabilized, there are tons of bosses to chase, so you keep improving your base as you work toward them. But in Minecraft, everything you build is purely for your own personal reasons. I'm not saying the game is bad, but even though it's been over 15 years, the original game still feels pretty lacking in terms of content and a sense of purpose.
>>737245249>You'll eventually hit the 'so, what now?' momentit's a sandbox construction game. You build shit. Creative expression and design is an end in and of itself
>>737246271What I find frustrating with Zomboid is that there is an extremely simple and easy solution to that "hook".>Once you get "stable" in the game you can start researching a cure for the zombie infection>To do this you first need to reach a specific threshold for stats on your character(s)>Each stat has a component related to it on the map that is hidden in some sort of thematic box/place>Once you find all the parts and put them togheter you can start researching a cure on any computer that is connected to the cure "box">This is done at multiple stages that attracts (and spawns) more and more zombies for each stage of the cure you finish, essentially stress testing your base and how "stable" you really are>Each stage progresses slowly over time on it's own but can be sped up in various ways (killing zombies for "DNA", letting your character sit and research the cure manually, finding "clues" around the map and bringing them back to the computer, etc)>At the final stage the entire map will most likely be overrun with zombies>Your reward for doing this is becomming immune to the virus>Once you have the cure, you need to contact the army for evac (if you want)>To do this you either need to build a radio tower or find/go to one on the map>Once you have started the event its a race to the evac point (which is randomly selected on the current map) before you get overrun by zombies>If you survive, congrats, you win. End gameSee? Easy right? A simple hook that is completely optional, that uses all of the mechanics in the game, that encourages you to keep searching the map even after you've built a base, that changes slightly based on your starting character+map and that encourages multiplayer engagement (split character growth). It's so dead simple that the only reason why I don't think the devs have done something similar yet is becasue they are trying to milk the game for all it's worth (which isn't much anymore) and that they are incompetent.
Any modpacks this might be part of soon?the minecraft cravings are coming back and this mod looks insane.
>>737247973its 1.21 so lol
>>737248175Is that shit for modpacks? There's a few on curseforge, but they're either like insanely over-filled kitchen sink ones or hyper specific quest oriented ones. Was hoping for something more simple like Homestead or something.
>>737248296i was just gonna look around for cool ones and just shove aeronautics in there
>>737248804That's what I was thinking too My favorites are usually MCEternal or stoneblock, but i'm sick of quests. Think i'll just grab as much mods as I can from a cozy pack and throw aeronautics in it.
>>737244194Looks like you can build some pretty big ones based on this one in the trailer>>737245249Minecraft is basically just virtual legos, you just gotta enjoy building. If you want to do anything else theres better games for it
>>737246271Terraria is an RPG with an open world attached to it. Minecraft is a sandbox. They're not all that comparable other than punching trees.
>>737247973There are a few 'Create and all its Add-ons with some performance mods' kitchen sink type packs out there at any given moment. Just give them a few days to mix this in and you should be good to go.
>>737250548do not get that pack half of those addons are dogshit made in mccreator with the create label slapped on
>>737250667Good to know.
>play all the mods 10>make some decent progression>tackle more dimension mods>twilight forest is still just go to here and kill boss and no final boss>try the undergarden>doesn't really seem like much content there so leave>visit deeper and darker>there's fucking nothing here
>>737251210Twilight Forest somehow is a staple of every pack even when it hasn't been fun to play in a decade.
post builds
>>737251673I tried making a diner once, too. It's not as cool as yours though
>>737245249Well yeah. The best part of the game is like the first couple of hours when you’re exploring setting everything up. After that it can get stale really quick. It doesn’t help that the caves and cliffs update trivialized mining. The ultimate conundrum of Minecraft, that I just realized now, if you ask me is that its core systems (mining and crafting) are stuck in 2011 era. For example the mining depth should be in the thousands of blocks by now. But instead the game is still stuck up on ancient limitations. The entire foundation of the game needs to be upheaved.
>>737251826thanks i had mods for extra cool blocks so it was cheating a bit
>>737252940I assume the reflection on the ceiling is a shader effect? It looks cool regardless
>>737253096yeah shader
>>737240480The physics mod is insane. It looks like a must-have with how much it improves interactivity and immersion. I'm looking forward to more mods that are built around it.
>>737240480hitler mecha build incoming
>add create to my custom modpack>now have to hunt downn which mods are causing conflict issues because one of it's dependencies (veil) is notoriously incompatable with a lot of random shit
>>737249707i'd love building in minecraft if it didn't have the "one block at a time" bullshit in it
>>737256467https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/building-gadgets
Post your dakka guyz!!
>>737240558Have you tried late game vanilla, anon?
shitty balloon I built
>>737251280i've been trying out arcane twilight and it's cozy
