Did a modded challenge run playthrough of Subnautica last week. It was fun but I couldn't be assed to actually do the finale collectathon.Decided to finally try The Planet Crafter since its been Overwhelmingly Positive forever. I thought I got bamboozled but the game somehow even LOOKS better as you progress the terraforming. Its not really deep. Its effectively a first person incremental game with less clicking. But its scratching that itch I have for building and crafting.

If I did, I might hop into my modded Oblivion (old) install, or Skyrim special edition... which I set up about two years ago after upgrading my PC but when I did so I spent two weeks rebuilding my mod list (since my original install was the old version and I had not used any mod organizer the data folder was a nightmare). However it took me two weeks of downloading mods all day and then another week installing and testing... and by then I had no desire to play anymore. I'm slowly getting back to that... but not ready to move on from my project yet. Played around with some Pokemon 3rd gen romhacks early last year, and some Link to the Past and Mega Man X (SNES trilogy) romhacks. Those were fun, that was all around the same time. Before that it was the Turok 1 and 2 remasters. Some C&C remastered around that time. Time just flies when you work like I do and then in your free time dive into other pursuits. Just don't really feel like playing anything. Been a few years since I tortured myself in OpenXcom.

I've been playing Crystal Project. The only major downside is, that when I finally do feel like I can sleep, I'll inevitably find myself thinking, "okay, I'll see if I can get over to that spot/make that jump and call it quits." Whenever I do that, I'll find myself in a new area and keep playing to see what I can find, which results in the loop continuing.Other than that, the game is fun as fuck.

>>737274923Yeah, I'd classify it as an exploration heavy 4 niggas (or fewer, it's got a bunch of challenge run options baked into the game including an option to reduce the party size) in a row game. Since it runs on a Job system, the party is pretty customizable and there's a bunch of jobs. You start with six available at the start and finding crystals unlocks more. I'm not all that far in it yet, but I do like how the game is very transparent when it comes to things like how much damage you'll do, turn orders, and accuracy/crit rates. There's also a ton of assist options that you can enable to do things like make your character automatically jump when you encounter a ledge (good for knowing whether or not you can make a long jump), allowing for multiple home points (respawn location as well as acting like a teleport location when enabled), make home points act as an Inn, raise or lower XP/LP/Gold earned, or give you more time for timed puzzles and make it so you auto complete mini games. There's also a set of robust randomizer options available right out of the gate.
