Is it over for Square Enix and Final Fantasy XIV? What can we do to fix it?

comparing the charts xiv is now in its late cata stage so now they can pump out another 2-3 expansions where they will see numbers return to the peak on launch before sharply falling off within 3 months
>>
The truth is that they kinda just don't give a fuck anymore

How would (You) kill XIV?

8.0 will reach the lower ends of endwalker population wise. It will not fall off as severely as dawntrail did. There will be a battered wife syndrome where if the story is not offensively bad (and I'd say there's a 15% chance of it being a DT disaster) people will treat it as the second coming of Christ.

Gameplay changes will offend some people enough to not want to play, but by and large it'll just be grumbling. There won't be any particular single change to dramatically improve playercount aside of, unfortunately, vtubers bringing in the parasocials.

It'll be fine after the shitshow of DT.

Was that data set to private by default?
>>

I'm expecting the world's safest and blandest story we could possibly get that takes every single opportunity to suck off your WoL's dick.

If one thing is true of XIV, its the devs love to over-correct.

Release another ARR style redo that turns it into a real mmo this time

Siphon even more money out of it to fuel more dead on arrival shovelware fresh from the square enix trashyard factory. Let Hiroi be the main writer again with full creative control. Make wuk lamat a Scion. Kitase and Nomura take over as creative lead and director.

This way at least you can be 100% certain it's dead and buried.

shit, the game is actually dying

"numbers are low because of private lodestone" is my favorite new cope
>>
The make-or-break moment will be the question if they're willing to functionally memory hole the expansion.
The foundation of all of it is terrible. You can't build on a shit foundation. You can only start over.

Got any quantifiable proof you want to share for a better insight?
>>
>>737274503
If they were smart 8.0 would be a place new accounts could freely skip to.

>>737274579
I believe the burden of proof that everyone, all at once, decided to log into their mogstation account, and manually set it to private falls on you, not them.
>>
>>737268392
I still bought Dawntrail but the story broke me. Had to cut my loss and gave up my large plot.
>>
>>737274579
You could pin it on the economy recession and it would be more believable than your retarded cope
