because giving your id to any company to use basic features like this is fucking dumb, and is clearly part of an authoritarian power grab

how long do you think it'll be before your 'facial data to verify for 18+ on ps' is suddenly used in a database that can pinpoint you on ring cameras?

That's exactly why they're pushing it. The more they push it, the more actual verification is needed, until we have comprehensive digital IDs being tracked with complete surveillance at all times. Are there companies that still manufacture smartphones without cameras? Or at least with integrated camera covers? I can at least completely opt-out from using a webcam in my PC, but considering how cameras have become one of the most advertised functions in modern smartphones and how it's already proven that your phone can, and will, record everything you say and do in your phone so it can show you targeted ads, the last thing I want is for my camera to also start recording me or anything it looks at without my consent. This whole age verification stunt is getting ridiculous and increasingly worrying, it almost feels like you will be pushed out of basic technology unless you give your ID to corporations or go back to buy decade old electronics.

Sadly, most people are ignorant of those like Thiel or Ellison. Avoiding the surveillance state is too late. It's already gone into full effect. Supreme court ruled tracking you everywhere you go via camera isn't a 4th ammendment violation. They need no reason to begin investigating you & gathering data on you that previously would require a court order.

The black cloud is also the silver lining here though. Flock cameras aren't regulated by any state or the fed. It's your local Sheriff who pled to the city council to get Flock cameras installed. You have the ability to start causing a ruckus, getting the word out, and attending city council meetings to simultaneously enlighten people and spit in the face of these decrepit lazy boomers who thought instituting centralized AI surveillance ON THEIR OWN CONSTITUENTS was a good call if it made their job slightly easier.

When you tell your fellow citizen, "The Sheriff and city council thought that your privacy was worth being able to track down criminals slightly faster" many will have their perspective shifted. These kinds of issues are all about optics. Frame it the right way and it will get through to just about anyone. Vote out every Sheriff who petitioned city council for Flock cameras. The power actually IS in our hands on this one. This new wave of surveillance bullshit starts in local government and ends in local government. Get going

I would be so concerned for you particularly in the US if it was just "Surveillance Capitalism" and Flock. but it's the same here in Denmark. And a lot of these "firms" are state-owned here, so it's just literally a police state, or at least some attempt to "modernize" society with automation-through-surveillance.

You can see in the UN and blackrock talks about this that it's used for like 5 things but the main thing is DATA validation.

I saw a nifty post on /pol/ recently claiming that this is happening after the BIS and other Central Banks, and instances outside of banks, have realized they've been using bogus telemitry in Big Data. They've given us bogus statistics on a shitload of things because they took data for granted as "made by real humans" but a lot of shit has been botted or invalid, because there's no verifiable source it came from humans, so a lot of research (and money into research environments) have gone to waste, and a lot of data in things like Palantir has been utter shit too.

Most importantly, the whole AI-capitalism we've seen especially since Trump signed with OpenAI and Big Tech, is just based on a lot of bogus data points, so the only way to move forward is via data validation.

That's why they're now coming up with all this insane mass-surveillance where it has to scan our faces anywhere we go. They're obviously also trying to use that for AGI. They wanna create Morpheus and Helios from Deus Ex lol.
>>
remember when we used to create nicknames on the internet to stay anonymous and our parents kept telling us never send pictures of your face on the internet. What happened?
>>
>>737320072
Verification has nothing to do with csam and you know it. Restricting chat is how you push people to use alternative platforms, and that is far more dangerous. There will ALWAYS be alternatives to handing over your face. Keep taking those away and the only ones left are going to be shady as fuck. The real perverts are gleeful at the idea of kids migrating to something like telegram for their communication needs to circumvent these kinds of checks.
>>
>>737320349
Yeah it's crazy... I think that people have just melded the internet and their real life together. > Flock cameras aren't regulated by any state or the fed. It's your local Sheriff who pled to the city council to get Flock cameras installed
Look at luis rossmans channel. He was tracking that for a while. Causing a ruckus is not enough. In one case the local head decided to sign a contract with an AI company AFTER the whole community was in an uproar against it. The catch. The value of the contract was something like 1 dollar under the legal limit that would require a vote from the council.

These cameras are also not being pushed by local Sheriffs because they are so great or anything. You literally have lobbyists from those camera companies going around "convincing" local law enforcements how great of a deal it would be.
Good like as citizens fighting against a bln dollar industry lobby. I mean it, good luck, because you will need it.
>>
>>737315067
Fucking mountain jews. I wanna go back. This is not my timeline.
>>
>>737320220
That corporations/governments are trying to get away with it is not that surprising, as similar things happened in the interim of terrorist attacks in the 2000s. I found 2006 articles about installing cameras inside of trains, and although they're doing that to newly made trains in EU countries, they definitely didn't have it in the old-ass train I ran with today, so you can see it rise and fall with the estimated "threat level" that's in the country.

But what's more disappointing is how increasingly few care about this. My mom is just like "more policing is great, it keeps us safe" and my sisters are like "omgomgomg, so I watched TrueCrime on Netflix. I'm so afraid of walking in the dark uuh-huuh! Thank God there's safety-cameras these days"

And it's just baka. There is such an obvious leap ahead of us between entertainment-heavy Capitalism and AI/Surveillance/Climate BULLSHIT that's right around the corner.

Like are we REALLY going through some Hitler vs Stalin shit again? But it feels like this time there were just some VIPs who mutually agreed to start a theater, and people are so fucking cool with dropping everything in their hands to help the climate situation, even though it's a fucking sham, and the reality 10 years from now is one without personal computers, no gaming, no movies, no music industry, and all we do is have a """"community"""" where everybody is pleasing each other about their climate "Net-Zero" efforts.

Everything's going to suck, but the majority of normiecattle are just on board with it, because they still believe garbage research proved anything, and not just that there's a naturally occurring climate change coinciding with some political charlatans.

Yes, lets give up all liberties and anonymity. Who needs privacy anyway. Why not stream what is happening at your home 24/7, and hey, can you give me access to your PC? I mean surely you have nothing to hide right? Only someone with CP on their hard drive would not give other people access to private information!

This is a complete erosion of rights, not only is it an erosion and overreach, its also slowly slipping shackles on people. Any time people will have any sort of anti government sentiment, it will be ever so slightly easier to shut them out of society. Since you will need an ID to interact with all online features, because an ID will become the only legitimate way to prove your age. All the government has to do is flip a switch and ban you. This is literally setting up chinas social score system. Except in the west, and morrons like you are cheering it on.

Actually that tends to get some questionmarks even out of normies, because it's often met with "??? but I keep my children safe, what's wrong with them?"
But it works in europe because of Putin. And they won't even take a suggestion that an unidentified drone sighting might be Israel. Media even suggested "people resorting to conspiracy when there's a lack of public transparency coming from State Intelligence." because everyone started going "soooo... Israel, not Putin?"
And they're still trying to pass the "World Situation" off as a "Modern Day 9/11 Patriot Act" moment, and it's just fucking not.

We're in conflicts which we have been escalating on our own, and we can either own up to that, or admit that this surveillance nonsense has nothing to do with threats, and everything to do with the pre-made 2030 UN plan to create a control-grid and begin to force goycattle to live in a panopticon for the "climate" (so they stop talking about Epstein).

It is really crazy how much is genuinely just connected to a BTFO of the elites/oligarch network of secrecy since 2008 in the stock crash. same year Epstein was arrested for the first time. I'm sure that's what caused the panic and initial distraction, and then MeToo, and then taking out the worst liabilities of Hollywood, and now their last resort is to put us all into digital prisons. The fucking bastards.

You have some of the series of events in that story wrong here, but some of the details are right. What's funny is you use that Denver story of an example of things not working, but they actually pressured the Denver mayor enough to cancel the Flock contract 2 months ago. Look it up. Denver no longer has Flock cameras after that debacle.

I'm telling you guys, this is one issue where we can very easily get policies changed and people voted out. This isn't even state or federal politics. You can pressure your mayors, sheriffs, and city councils to get this shit removed. You just have to be willing to be annoying. Be incredibly annoying. Show up at every meeting and use your time to talk on the topic. Do not relent. Recruit others to come with you (numbers mean a lot at things like council meetings too.) Like I said, this starts at local governments and ends at local governments. This isn't something the Fed instituted and would take years to even begin pushing back on.

Again, you can pressure your local politicians and see Flock cameras removed from where you live. It's happened already in plenty of cities around the country.

Normally I'm so resigned to political action because there's no real impact to have, but this is a rare and exciting exception. The odds of your political action on this topic resulting in you ACTUALLY being less surveilled is real and high.

Semi-related, twitter showed me a tweet article today about how China is suffering a homeless epidemic because literally tens of thousands of people are being locked out of their own money because of low social credit scores. This is the direction we're heading on, it only requires one corpo to get ahold of your ID information so they can share it with their fellow billionaires to keep a permanent eye on you for whatever wrongthinking you might post on the internet.

Discord had a data breach not long ago and they did whole mental gymnastic, only reason that global ID check hasn't been applied yet was because EVERYONE bitched about it, and it was just a delay.

Brazil still got it anyway due local laws.
>>
>>737325680
It's in Discord's best interest to let someone else take the hit for the being the company to get the ball rolling and erode people's resistance to handing over their ID. I know Brazil passed the law that forces ID verification for operating systems, once that happens elsewhere I'm pretty sure people are going to give up entirely.

It's like how these mobile games/live services try to lure you in with cheap $1 packs, because once you get used to the idea of spending on a game you're more likely to spend in the future. Once you get used to handing over your ID to be verified, you're more likely to do it in the future.

At this point you can only pick the lesser evil. I've been using my current phone for a bit over 2 years, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro, and I'm already dreading the fact that once it kicks the bucket, I'll most likely end with a phone that won't even let me reach the home screen unless I give my personal information to Google, and I'm not an Applefag to know how better or worse they are in that regard.

There's also the new HarmonyOS that Huawei is adding to their own phones to replace Android, but I would just be jumping from one villain to another, instead of giving my data to a US megacorp, I would be giving it to a branch of the CCP.

If they actually remove the ability to install apks, I would abandon Android in a heartbeat, at least never update my OS ever again until there's a better alternative.

It's the same issue with W11, I absolutely refuse to move to that OS even if I can't install Wave Link 3 to use my brand new Wave XLR because it's just a fucking horrendous OS that also just recently got a security flaw so bad that it would allow bad actors to access into your entire system files with a simple exploit. Honestly, we're running out of options and I really wish Gabe would actually put some effort into turning Steam OS into a true OS that could compete with Windows.

Not samefagging at all. I am not the same person who made the post, this is an anonymous website you see, and I just agree with the anon. Try again.
>it's more narcissistic to be identifiable throughout the internet than being a faceless user.
Why would a narcissist be happy or content with identifying themselves on the internet, when by its very nature you're putting words to a face and ID, and by extension adding additional responsibility on to your online activity which may result in consequences in real life? Surely a narcissist would want to dodge any responsibility on the internet, because he feels entitled to say and do whatever he wants because he thinks he's a demi-god (you, the autistic freak)

holy fugg I remember that sign up screen. feels like it was ages ago.
I only used PSN to play original GTAO but still, unironically I feel like the UI had far more SOVL back then and not to mention it was all free.

Yet you are still advocating for ID verification, why are you still posting as an anon? Prove me wrong. Go on and post your face and ID here. But you are too much of a pussy to follow what you preach.
>Why would a narcissist be happy or content with identifying themselves on the internet
Those are your words btw, and you still haven't answered my question. Enough with the red herring fallacy. Why would someone feel special when they want to have the right to privacy? Or why are you even comparing being special with anonymity?
>by extension adding additional responsibility on to your online activity which may result in consequences in real life? Surely a narcissist would want to dodge any responsibility on the internet, because he feels entitled to say and do whatever he wants
With what? By being able to say nigger without having my face next to the word? Thanks for proving my point, do you want me dead because I don't follow your political views?

Erm sorry sweetie we need every single piece of personal information you have as well as a 24/7 livestream of your face to know for sure

On a website that remains anonymous for everybody else? Why would I do that? I advocate for it across the internet so that the inevitable mockery and ridicule that anyone gets for posting their face on 4chan would be disqualifed by the fact that you yourself are identifed. what are you so scared of little boy?
>Those are your words btw, and you still haven't answered my question. Enough with the red herring fallacy. Why would someone feel special when they want to have the right to privacy? Or why are you even comparing being special with anonymity?
I have answered your question by inquiring further, to understand your logic behind the question but there is none beyond "ur just a narcissist bro" and Ive questioned that logic. The onus is on you to respond, not me.
>With what? By being able to say nigger without having my face next to the word? Thanks for proving my point, do you want me dead because I don't follow your political views?
You just accused me of red herring fallacy, and here you are mentally shadowboxing arguments I haven't made. Grow up young man

There's also just the biggest reason; that it's people who create and uphold the law and people can be flagrantly shitty and corrupt. A huge reason why these laws are being pushed to begin with is because politicians are accepting money from the likes of meta and zuckerfukc thanks to utter cancer like citizen's united. These are not people who have the best interest of anyone but themselves. All they want is power and money.

Yeah, now your argument doesn't sound compelling when privacy becomes a privilege, right? Why would you want to post your ID and face when the opposition, or the ones controlling you refuse to do so? No different than witch hunting. But instead of ridicule, the ones who are doing the ID checks will be the ones who have the power to ruin your life because you said something they didn't liked. Took you a little bit, but you finally get the main idea.
>I have answered your question by inquiring further
You cannot answer a question with another question, "anon".
>>
>>737332851
I don't think you've understood the post I made. I am saying that the *only thing* stopping me from posting my face and ID on 4chan, is that nobody else on 4chan posts their face and ID. In that environment, it would be foolish. If everybody else was identifiable, suddenly the mockery and ridicule would be reduced to almost zero (considering what most of you freaks look like).

You can ben shapiro this as much as you want by reading back my argument wrongly as much as you want, its very clear what I am saying to you. And yes, I can answer a question with a question, if the question didn't make any sense.

What is the virtue of anonymity to begin with, when you're already controlled by schlomo and your president dragged you in to a war nobody voted for? The original poster is correct, most people are human slugs and goy cattle, nothing matters, stop larping. You aren't a marvel hero lmao

Okay so, you just admitted you are just cattle and you only follow what the herd does. "If they are not doing it, then I am NOT doing it". What a way to stand to your principles.
>And yes, I can answer a question with a question, if the question didn't make any sense.
I always knew I was talking to a midwit, no wonder you are this much of a bootlicker if you are this easy to control.

Again, Ben Shapiro, making up slightly distorted conclusions to the points being made to you, is not an argument. Want to try again?
