I kinda miss the forums for multiplayer servers. Used to post in a community made of around 12k members from all over the world. It was awesome, people made small clans on the server and the big ones with active people were given spots in an official rooster and people applied for them all the damn time. It was amazing.

No, absolutely not. Antisocial gaming might suck in its quality multiplayer wise but people underestimate how much work you have to actually put into it yourself to make a game social. I had this with wow, got into a guild after more than a decade, like the real deal with people knowing and liking each other, not like a bunch of sweatlords trying to fuck everyones else over while cooperating just enough to get the most out of it. It was cool. It suddenly made that twenty year old game 300% better and everything seemed fun but that also meant being there regularly, spending sometimes all the time I got helping someone, keeping appointments, getting to xy in time, not being able to just play something else for a month or two because realistically, you are just out of the social circle at that point, moving in the same pace as the guild as a whole etc. etc. Thats a lot of shit to maintain if you are a functioning adult with maybe ~15h of overall free and playtime a week. I reckon its even worse if you have to be physically at a place. That stuff was cool when you would get out of school in walking distance, get home in 20 minutes and spend like six hours per day easily on whatever the fuck you want. Thats not so cool when I just want to hop onto topic XY for an hour or two and maybe do something else tommorow because there is no way I can be a working part of a social gathering of any sorts with people who are together several times per week while I peek in for an hour once a month. Apart from this heavy duty socializing I dont see the point of that shit. I dont need to adjust my pace or interests so I can humor some shitfuck that I dont really know because we rarely see each other or do anything else besides smalltalk. At that point other humans are just bad smelling, fleshy obstacles who distribute an array of bodily fluids and remnants all over the place.
