It doubled down on all the stuff from Dragon's Dogma (pre Dark Arisen) that people didn't like (limited fast travel, low enemy variety, ect) so I can see why it wasn't to everyone's taste, but I liked DD1 so it scratched that itch for me nicely. I liked DD2 quite a lot, but if they make a DLC for it that is just another BBI I doubt I would buy it. What the game needs is the exact opposite of BBI. Add everything new onto the existing game world and systems: new enemies, weapons, quests. The foundation they have is very strong but bare. A BBI style DLC would ditch that foundation completely to go build some other foundation somewhere else.
