Is it worth paying full price for?
>>
I'd wait for a sale and hopefully by then they finish the coop update
>>
>>737337432
I'm debating this myself.
>>
>>737337432
>>737337606
It is worth paying double for. I've never seen a game so generous with the amount of content provided to the player. Highly recommend buying two copies to support a based dev and to piss off the tranny doomposters.
>>
>>737337884
Is it really that good or are you trolling? Dont make me waste 55 britbongs so you can get a cheap laugh.
>>
>>737338081
It really is that good. Blows any game released in the past 20 years out of the water. Makes me wonder what took so long.
>>
>>737337432
>>737337606
No it's a half off game at best. They're fixing some smaller issues over time but there are so many fucking terrible fundamental issues that can never be solved without a completely new game. It's fucking trash mate. Unless you really like Ubisoft type games and kpop slop, wait for the bargain bin.

>>
whatever. voices38 is going to crack this within the next month
>>
>>737337432
just wait a year and see what happens they will keep fixing by adding stuff it's always better to wait there is a shit ton of games out there to play already.
>>
I played 150hrs but honestly you see all the gameplay mechanics in the first 30.
Everything is just slow, except for the combat which is schizo tier.
I wouldn't recommend it unless it hits below 30 bucks or something
>>
>>737337884
>to piss off the tranny doomposters.
what are you even talking about bro, why do you let them always live rent free in your mind?
>>
>>737338682
filtered by slop? yea
>>737338669
yes since you can get a good discount on that now
>>
>>737337432
100%.
>>
>>737339172
You're lying your ass off. A lot of mechanics aren't introduced initially because you don't get the skills for them much later. Fuck you, lying shit.

OP, I already said 100% but it's a game that gives you value for what you pay for. There is a lot of content to sink your teeth into. You'll be playing this game for a long time, dependent on how you play.

how big is the map? any comparisons? i hate small 'detailed' maps
>>
>>737342713
Map is gigantic. Five regions but each of those could have been a game world by itself, especially the first one.
>>
>>737342713
It's fuckhuge yet impressively detailed.
Not overmuch dead space.
Maybe 4x GTAV
>>
>>737342713
>how big is the map? any comparisons? i hate small 'detailed' maps
This almost seems like a bait question for someone trying to promote crimson desert lmao
>>
>>737342713
huge and empty
>>
>>737337432
If you care about compelling combat and encounter design, pacing, quest design, responsive controls, enemy variety, striking art design or narrative then you wont find much to like in crimson desert.

If you like exploring a world filled with generic fantasy assets, inane time wasting gimmicks and puzzles for children, you might love crimson desert.
>>
>>737342838
You wish. It's more like 30% bigger than gtav. But if you count the empty and boring nothingness outside of Los Santos, then crimson desert is just a bit better here.
>>
>>737346565
i heard the puzzles were good?
>>
>>737346770
I played for about 30 hours and every puzzle I found was grabbing a thing and putting it in a slot, or spinning/sliding something until it lined up correctly.
Youre not really solving anything, just putting the designated peices together after guessing which one of the plethora of overalapping interaction mechanics you need to use
>>
>>737346919
oh i see, grok says the puzzles are "polarizing"
>>
>>737346770
They're not difficult but some are really creative. One had me looking into the past to solve something in the present. Most of the Abyss puzzles are good. The overlord secrets are mostly you recognizing patterns and rewarding you for spotting something out of place and there's loads secrets.
>>
>>737337432
There is not a single game I bought for a fool price except for diablo 3. Never ever I will do it. If I can wait for proper gameplay video, I can wait for discount or even pirate if I don't feel like paying at all.
>>
as someone who has many hours in this, i suggest you look up spoilers for the last boss and for when you get the dragon, these parts alone have soured me on the game so badly and i am not the only one who thinks this, many people are complaining about the dragon implementation and generally just how awful it is. DO NOT be swayed by the dragon from the trailers, it is nothing like how they have showed.

I recommend waiting at least 6 months to see if they fix the dragon by then, it is a good game, i enjoyed it a lot, but the dragon riding parts which feature towards the later chapters of the main story AND forced again onto ON THE VERY LAST BOSS are honestly god AWFUL, do not take my word on it, just google that shit and see what people are saying about it, it is being panned universally

It's very good, but you can wait. The patches they are putting out are huge, so even I find myself waiting for the upcoming one that'll add a bunch of QOL and graphical improvements.

I think the game is going to be better in a couple of months and by the time it gets its first sale.
>>
>>737349356
They're not behind they already updated the hypervisor to latest version a few days ago 1.03.01
>>

btw it seems like kirigiri will keep updating it for a while even after the new big update drops
>>
>>737337432
Honestly if you're worried about the price just wait for a sale. By then they will have released a bunch of patches that shore up the games rough spots. I'm waiting for the post-game enemy respawning mechanic to be in before playing more. Most the enemies on the map are long dead so there's little to do besides random quests. That's after like 150+ hours

No, it isn't very good.
It's a game for the kind of people who play nothing but heavily modded Skyrim. It's a meandering distract-a-thon timesink without any depth to its mechanics. It's hundreds of hours of busywork disguised as content.

>>737346770
They’re mostly logic puzzles like 5 pieces and moving a piece moves two other piece and you have to move them all so they line up, or the old 3x3 moving picture puzzles, or a lot of “you have to get three pieces here but can only move two at a time” thing. There’s also quite a bit of “here’s a map with three spots marked, go find the spots in the world and then come back and put them in the lock.” I’ve also seen some music puzzles where you have to repeat the melody back. Oh, and some place a block on top of another block type puzzle with physics. So yeah, lots of different kinds of puzzles.

>>
>>737349791
Now you can see why so many casuals got filtered. It’s not just the usual “put highlighted part in highlighted hole” although there are some of those too. Generally, puzzles are pretty short except for the abyss, which tends to be high multi-level shit you can spend a few hours trying to figure out.
>>
>>737349785
Anon, didn’t I just see you in the first descendant thread?
>>
>>737349851
It sounds like people with taste are the ones who got filtered. Picture slide puzzles are low-effort shit I expect from shovelware titles.
>>
>>737349707
I've only seen 1 abyssal puzzle that was a sliding picture.
I prefer the puzzles where you stand there for 15 minutes trying to figure out what the fuck to do.
This one for example, I had to look it up stacking rocks is too complicated for me I thought they were stone resource

It’s okay if you can’t solve them, anon. That’s what the internet is for. Just make sure to reset it or the instructions won’t work.
>>
>>737349940
Yeah, they’re mostly lock-boxes. Those tend to have the most variety. The stacking puzzles are infuriating the first time though since there’s no real clue about what you’re supposed to do.

>>
>>737349986
The one with 5 sliding pillars fucked my brain up, also the one with the sliding things on the wall you need to grip.
Also there's some that are purely a skill-check to see if you know how to use a mechanic, there's one where I only figured out what "resist" does because I did it 50 times and failed every single time.
>>
>>737349945
The game is weird. I play on base ps5 and the game can handle the war scenes perfectly, but my camp after the second upgrade lags heavily. Is it because the camp has unique characters and not just generic mobs? Because you would think if it was just a number thing the war scenes with like 40 characters onscreen and destructible shit would lag more than the camp with just 20 or so characters.
>>
>>737350021
I see an unsolved puzzle. Like I said. It’s okay if you can’t solve them. Just look up a guide.
>>
Why can't I be a woman in this game? Sidekick that you can control doesn't count.
>>
>>737350098
You’re not playing you. You’re playing Kliff. That’s why.
>>
nope. wait for many more patches, the game is unfinished trash. also a lot of the content is the lowest of the low in terms of quality. it really was made with AI filler
>>
>>737350021
The slide puzzles are usually just to steal shit.
The actual value items have some truly guide-necessary puzzles, the sky islands in particular make me want to rip my pubes out.

kek they must be crazy
I never pay attention to achievements but damn. I'm almost 60% done in the knowledge tab, so maybe like half done the game.
>>
>>737349683
Yea. Its huge in its variety and map size, character abilities, and things to do.
And it's all engaging. Its just got a weak story and lore so if that doesn't bother you and you like open world games it's terrific.
>>
>>737350224
I thiught the story was rushed when I first played, but upon watching someone else play I think the story is actually not bad. It pays off in the later scenes when the nobles start helping Kliff out and it feels earned because you really did have to work your way up.
>>
>>737350306
Everything until act 5 is tutorial anyway.
>>
>>737350141
I'm weirdly enough the total opposite. Every other puzzle is a cakewalk but slide puzzles make my brain short-circuit. They're not even hard, I just sort of mentally refuse to "make it worse to make it work later".

A lot of the puzzles would have been fun if the controls were more responsive or intuitive and if there weren't long animation locks. But because many of them are so clunky they become annoying.
>>
>>737350376
That's weird, I struggled with the first one because I hadn't done one in so long but after that it was all cakewalks.
The one with the two flipping platforms on the island of solitude had me reading guides and still too confused to proceed.
>>
>>737350376
Mine are the 3x3 grid ones where some of them lights up and pops out. I just click randomly and it somehow just always gets them all to pop out.
>>
>>737337432
i dont regret it, even though i was a bit iffy. its like gothic if it was made in 2026 with asian autism instead of german autism.
>>
>>737350441
I think I found a similar one hidden behind a wall. It was a 3 x 7 grid, and you pressed on button and a seemingly random assortment of other ones would pop out. And they were all different colors. Even now, I don't know how I solved it or what the gimmick was.

One of my favourite stupid autistic things about this game is if you do a dispatch building mission you can visit the jobsite and see actual progress. Foreman simulator.
>>
>>737342652
And don't forget it was cuck for a while. All kinda the same purpose, isn't it? Attacking someone's masculinity.
>>
>>737350767
How nuanced is it? I assume it's like a few different models that get swapped out every time you're in the area. But it can't be that many right? Maybe just 4 like your image.

Not very. There are maybe a half dozen models for each project to progress though. But it's a nice touch. Everyone you dispatch can be seen working on the map.

The boss are are fast but they're all very predictable. You can even manipulate the AI with moves like spear counter. I swear this game isn't very difficult it just filters out retards. Naturally reddit is seething about skill checks like Antumbras lmao.

I in chpt7, 140h and I start yo feel sated. Ill probably finish it, but i dont plan to play it as often as i was. 70dol for a game that would probably last me for +200h, even 140h? Its pretty good deal.
>>
>>737351678
Bosses arent difficult but i hate every boss thats gets koed by gimmick. Pricktus, or havengate 2nd phase stone golem or circus one. Its just obnoxious spam till you use that one or two designed moves that destroy them so fast thats not even funny.
>>
>>737352084
I'm playing on 1.00.002 before the boss nerf and the reflected projectiles only tickled the ancients. I had to use my cannon to stun him or wait until the diving attack to really hurt him. The circus boss you can use wind or the gear that leaves a cyclone to jump up high and spam arrows. He also goes down to force palm. He wasn't terrible. Haven't done the stone golem yet but the ones I've fought were actually tricky because it's difficult to read when the hitboxes start. Those I don't really feel guilty yoinking their core out. Of all bosses so far I'd say only the spider queen was bad because her body slam has almost windup. Otherwise it wasn't terrible. The focus>expulsion gimmick only get gets rid of the webs and baby spiders. The poison darts are tricky but not impossible to beat. You're otherwise untouchable if you stay near the door. Myurdin is also down there because the constant lava explosions make fighting him obnoxious.
>>
>>737337432
>>737337606
160hrs in, just finished the mq. I got the game with an amd cpu purchase, I can honestly say I'd buy it at full price, but it is a little slow to start rolling. The story is fairly generic, outside of some of the greymanes there aren't really any memorable characters. It can be frustrating at times, but the good thing is that there's so much else to do that you can switch away from one activity and spend hours doing something else.
>>
>>737349356

>>
>>737337432

I've noticed many people talking about how big and dense the world is and how much there is to discover, but what does that mean in practice? What are you discovering? Hidden secret areas, combat rooms, treasure vaults, lore dumps etc? What's actually dense about it? Or is it just there's a lot of the same stuff in a lot of places? The last world I felt a genuine sense of wonder about hdiden secrets and weird things to find was RDR2, but it didn't always deliver.
>>

>>
>>737337432
I got 191hr out of it before I got bored and even that was just the QOL shit finally wearing me out. Yes it's very much worth it. But if you can wait until they release the dedicated storage update for crafting mats and documents and the like, that's one of the biggest fucking failings in the game right now, not being able to craft from storage etc.
>>
>>737354158
The game world is bigger than RDR2's map and they've done an extremely good job of not making anything feel like copy/pasted content. The rewards for exploring aren't huge boons in gameplay terms but are definitely rewarding enough. Environmental storytelling is top tier too.

This website is NOT the place to ask. There’s been a cloying, ever present and painfully obvious paid shill campaign doing such a bad job of making the game sound interesting that I think pearl abyss deserves their money back. It’s impossible to talk about the game without them infesting the thread and beshitting it.

From what I can gather, the game is a massive, shallow, pretty experience with some interesting sounding options in its nonetheless janky combat, and a terrible story. If you like fucking around in a sandbox and don’t care that it doesn’t offer anything else, you could like it. Not for me.
>>
>>737349532
They just designed the achievements so that you get zero until the end where you get them all in a very short amount of time.
>>
Im 20 hours in, chapter 5 and only found like 3 puzzles in the game, where are they?
>>
>>737357792
Most of the puzzles are up in the Abyss. It's an entire puzzle dimension with a lot of ways in at ground level. Other stuff you find by whipping your lantern out somewhere high up and looking for the glowing dots- or sword shining for the same effect.
