No it isn't. With the exception of the MC any character in Eternum could be replaced without altering the larger story being told. The VR framework can not, it is inexorable.
Contrast this with BaD, any semblance of a larger story is just an extension of the smaller character dramas and their interpersonal conflicts. Replacing any of the main cast changes the story itself because they are the basis for the whole thing, there's no overarching plot.
Only one of these is actually trying to tell a story, the other is trying to capture the atmosphere of 90's/2000's boner comedies and the story does not remotely matter.

AL only has that choice near the end, it's easy to replay the other ending, so it just adds drama to the story without fucking over the player too much. i started Light of My Life Last night. I skipped all of season 1 and played season 2 first, the story was kinda meh but i like the gobbos. If there is a cheat mod available just assume it's mandatory, and it very much is for DIK. Not only you get all the scenes and renders without having to do retarded freeroam pixelhunting, you also get to cheat money in so you don't have to do most of the minigames (mansion shit is unskippable though). Also lets you ignore a lot of the forced choices between which girl you want to pick, sadly not all
