the original was made for WinXP, it had some weird issues on Win7 or newer Windows. like it would install but you had to fix some borked stuff, there's surely a FAQ about it

Just get enhanced edition and grab a decend soundfont and you're good to go. As for anniversary of 2 I haven't played it but from the little I've seen of it I didn't see anything egregious about it.If you're going in purely for the atmosphere and SHODAN 2 is what you want. 1 is a neat little dungeon crawler and is pretty straighforward and fun, 2 is the game that goes all in on the atmosphere and she has way more presence in it. That is not to say she doesn't have her moments in 1. 1 is worth your time just don't go in expecting tech-horror Deus Ex.
