It's the best of the modern remakes and the best mechanically out of the RE Engine games.

They should have gone further in that direction by making RE4 mechanics even MORE fun to play, rather than less so.It's the worst remake though, it's not even half a game.

RE2R is fucking boring slog that justifies its incredibly slow and tedious backtracking and "ohhh run awaaay oh nooo Mr. X gon giv it to ya haaahaaaaaa" and bullet sponge enemy shit with the survival horror label while not actually providing any horror. It is completely tedious. RE3R is a concise well paced horror-action game.
