Post a game literally only (You) remember
>car racing game on public roads>intro movie has a cop with ice cream falling on his shoethat's all I remember. some obscure game from early 2000s probably
>>737368164It was an exploration game on the Apple 2, where you moved an icon around a maze of screens. On one screen, you could customize your icon away from the default (which I recall as being a swan), but you could customize it down to 0 pixels, which would softlock the game.
>>737368164
>>737368357>all those cute graphics>GUN
>>737368447thats how you know its good old fashioned americana.
One of my first games, here's some footagehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sea-mYfS-BA
>>737368164that bottomless pit is unforgettable
>advertise a lot on tv>seems like i'm the only one remember the commercials for itnever played it because it looks like shit but just curious who bought this pile of crap with all that marketing
>freeware or shareware>basic mechanics are digger clone>very dark claustrophobic small viewport>most levels are timed race against falling boulders>short "edgy" sounding meaningless name like zyr or xaz or something like thatPlayed it in early 00s probably from some magazine demo disc, couldn't find it again for years.
>>737368164Billy the kid on floppy disk. Top Down and you would go up the world fighting past snakes and outlaws and shit. I can not for the life of me find a single screenshot of that game I used to play, but it was real.
>>737370543Oh shit I remember that game. It tought me that oceans are salty.
>>737368164Okay
>>737368164there's this stick man platform game I use to play in elementary on the computer. cant fucking remember it, but it had levels where you had to get to the goal. I think the gimmick is that you couldn't jump but I cant remember. ONly climb up and down ladders and drop.
>>737368164This site has broken my brain. Any time I see these colors I feel immediately obligated to offer my gratitude to a medical professional.
The Big Joke
>>737371231time commando, I remember playing this at a relatives computer way back
>>737371231I remember it. Time commando was kino
>>737371346I liked her first game the most.
>>737371641
>>737368164Used to be on my elementary school computer, played that all the time as a kid.>>737368659Yeah.
>>737368164Thanks doc
>>737368164Oh shit, I remember Microman. Never got very far since I sucked ass at video games as a 6 year old. I remember dropping it after I fell into a long ass hole that felt like it took 5 min to fall into.
>>737372069every JMJ fan probably remembers this
>>737372012Played this at my cousin's house. The level you posted was the best because it let you take a piss break by just putting your guy at the top of the level.
>>737370969i've never seen a non shareware copy or playthrough of this, i don't think a single person on the planet bought it
there was this first person 3D game with pacman(?) like gameplay from the late 90s or so. the maze was pretty dark and there was this monster that made this unsettling breathing or such noise, so when you heard it get closer you knew you were in trouble. used to scare me shitless as a kid.this thread made me remember it again. to this day I have no idea what it could've been.
Nobody ever knows this game. I will just say if you like Ecco the Dolphin you might like this (even though it's more like top-down Twisted Metal with aliens and not action-adventure).
>>737368164It's my most played game when I was a toddler. But I always fell down some infinite hole and didn't know what to do next.
>>737374465there's a video about this game with 1.5 million views man
>>737368164Wish they'd do a remaster
>>737374006https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDDIEJ1drtEfound someone's university project on youtube and the viewpoint was kind of like this. the monster had sharp teeth and was kind of clown-ish if I remember correctly
>>737368357oh shit nigga, I absolutely played this as a kid. I think there was a sequel I played too?
>>737371151Sounds like Lode Runner.
>>737375142No the graphics were far simpler.
>>737368164I don't even remember anymore, there was an old game I saw on plebbit that had a name similar to bunter's adventure/bunter's arbunter , it was a german or russian game that was on top down view with increasingky odd and creepy sprites the longer you advanced into the game.
>>737374698well maybe it's recent idk i'm not scanning youtube every day for updates. and nobody plays it.
>>737374006Hellnight/Dark Messiah?
For the longest time I had vivid memories of some obscure game from the '90's that I played growing up. All I could remember were fragments of the intro and weird little sound effects, but these fragments were SO strong I could picture and hear them clear as anything else in my mind. The only thing was, I had no idea what the game was called, and couldn't remember enough salient details to search for it.Then, one day my YouTube feed spat out some obscure long-play of something that looked extremely similar to what I had remembered for all these years. After like a frantic fifteen minute Googling, and I finally found the answer that eluded me for what was probably close to two decades:It was fucking Microsoft Creative Writer 1994.
>>737368164Microman!Do you also play speedy eggbert?
It's too dark to see anything
>>737374735I had this on PS1
>>737375478>i'm not scanning youtube every day for updatesthe first result when i looked it up. i think you're not scanning much of anything in general
>>737375645that seems like a cool looking game, but that's not it. I should've said this was on PC and was probably freeware
Unironically my first FPS
>>737374006A 3D Monster Maze-like?
Bow and arrow
Honey Monster Mountain Rescue, a platforming game split into three discs that came packaged with cereal boxes in Sweden (and probably other Nordic countries). I remember discovering a trick to go out of bounds by driving the snowmobile very slowly towards any sheer cliff, making you stick to and drive on the wall. I think each disc had 3 unique levels?
>>737375061Word Rescue and Math Rescue, they are both on Steamhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/358340/Word_Rescue/https://store.steampowered.com/app/358200/Math_Rescue/
>>737376117I suppose? they keywords here are first person, 3D, maze with very simple gameplay and no story that was probably like pacman, scary monster that makes noises. a long time ago I asked one of my sisters about it and she remembers it too, so I didnt completely imagine it
>>737374006AxySnake?
>>737376924haha that's a classic but sadly not what I'm looking for
>>737376798it's like candle cove and you were both just staring at a dead monitor
>>737376321Looks surprisingly fleshed out for shovelware
>>737377095yeah seems like it. we had a lot of burned CDs from our uncle and some of them had pretty odd games
>>737377635good old uncle skin-taker
Nightmare 3DUsing a magic wand to kill skeletons and witches
>>737371231Had the demo for this, getting to the latter parts of the Roman level (which felt touch as nails to a kid) was so exciting. I think I got it for free from gog at some point, should play through it one day.
hell yeah
>>737376141Damn someone already beat me to it ittOne of my favorite casual timewaster vidya from the Windows 3.x/Windows 9x era
>>737368164I played this on a demo disk back in the dayBrian Goble, the guy who created it, was one of the co-founders of Monolith Productions
GTA before GTA
>>737368164luv me dinosluv me 3Dluv me adventuressimple as
>>737371740Oh shit it's a "sequel" to Sub Culture! I, in fact, had never heard of this, that's cool.
>>737368164YOUWILLDIE
>>737378303For me it was Nanosaur
>>737368269Speed Busters: American Highwayshttps://youtu.be/kMy3Wl85EN8
>>737378115The last time I saw mention of this was talking about Amiga games. The guy said he loved the game and would piss his sports teacher off because he'd run around making the throw noise.I remember getting the bike and running cunts down. Good times.
>>737368281Gertrude’s Secrets, I played it in the computer lab at school
>>737378303My official disk didn't have part of the game on it for some reason. If you clicked on a thing in the sky (meteor?) it would throw an error message about a missing file and crash.
There is one game I distinctly remember that I have never found anything on in the 20+ years since I played it. All I remember is playing some kind of detective investigating in a futuristic office or factory or something and there was a female android receptionist that you could have a short sex scene with. I only post this here because knowledge of this game's existence and that one single scene have haunted my autistic brain for years. I don't even want to play it or fap to it, I just want to know what it was called and that I didn't just hallucinate it or something.
>>737376141I played that!
>>737379453Sounds like one of the Leisure Suit Larry games.
>>737379039man that might have been me, I use to piss my soccer coach off because I'd run around the field with my hands in my pocket, pretending to throw tornadoes and shit, good times
You can play this for free on GoG apparently, this thread made me look it up.
>>737379628I only know of this game through the Let's Drown Out LP. It does not look fun at all.
>>737379628Dink smallwood is one of the most modded games on the universe
>>737379628Dink Smallwood gets mentioned all the time despite the fact it's a bit shit
If you're looking for a pretty good Super Mario World-esque 2D platformer on the PS1, you could do a whole lot worse than Hermie Hopperhead. It's got a great soundtrack and some very cute fully-animated cutscenes, as well, though it gets devilishly difficult in the later worlds. Recommended.
>>737379623haha I thought it might be you! Yep, I remember now when you say "pretending to throw tornadoes" - not many people mention that game so had a feeling. hope you're good mate, go well.
Played this on a demo disc back in the day. It's a buy low/sell high game with a bunch of other game mechanics thrown in.
>>737371995The only shareware game I ever registered.
>>737379616No those actually have a distinct style to them, all I remember is some generic, first person myst-like presentation game in which you played a detective and fuck an android receptionist
Got this one Christmas. No replay value, beat it in an afternoon.
>>737368164I've got a couple.
Equal parts TIE fighter, 3d asteroid clearing game, spaceship racer, and pizza delivery game.
Rock Man! No, not that one, that's a different guy. This one's got a space in his name and wasn't popular enough to start a franchise.>>737381561Hey, I played this one too. Never made it past like level 2 or something because I kept getting divebombed to death by those fucking shy birds.
I could come up with dozens of shareware games, but that feels like cheating. So have some NES garbage instead.
i sucked at this game
>>737371995those sprites look disgusting I love it
>>737384075>Asshole Avenue
>>737381561I played this one. Got walled pretty early like the other anon did. Captain Comic 2 was a lot more fun but also way easier to get lost in.
>>737382764lovely game. one of the early walking sims!
>>737384318It being a predecessor to Myst is cool too
Really thought this would be an FPS but it was more a puzzle game like Myst
>>737384348they made a couple other games similar to cosmic osmo, it's good stuff
>>737368164Bozo's night out.It was a game about getting home safely from the pub while drunk, and each night you got consecutively drunker. You won by dying from liver failure when you got enough pints.
>>737375684kek
>>737384348for me it was the manhole
>>737368164Actually a cool game that tricked young me into thinking "Imagine where videgames will be in 20 years!"https://www.myabandonware.com/game/infestation-ddr
We were very late to getting decent PCs in my elementary school
>>737376161sorta wish our group had played more than just one game of vga planets.. but it really was rather time consuming. had lots of fun nonetheless.picrel: invasion schemes planning with an ally, i think.
someone might recognize this
>>737378292Awesome game. Nothing quite like it
>>737370543The dude that made this is STILL working on a third installment, he makes a blog post about it once every 4~ months.
>>737385880I hated the level where you had to race between three bases on a timer.
Don't remember seeing this mentioned anywhere ever.
coop game where you shoot guys collect money and buy powerups and fight bosses. somewhere between a shmup and a sidescrolling autoscroller.
>>737368164Way too hard for me as a kid, but it made an impression.
>Portal, but a Metroidvania with multiple different portal guns and other abilities
>>737368164ENTER
>>737371995The game that introduced me to CRPGs and I still think they're better than the remakes.
>>737384075Those 2 rollercoaster loops are totally his testicles
I played the crap out of the kim possible snowboarding flash game as a kid in the library when I was a librarian assistant. Basically child slave labor but I got to skip a class as payment. The Disney website was the only website with games that wasn't blocked
>>737390098Well shit, it's on archive.org>2005Hard to believe that was 21 years ago https://archive.org/details/rufussnowride
in an era of shitty knockoff pokemon-likes this one was actually pretty goodplayed it when i was a kid, way before even knowing who tsukushi wasbut yeah tsukushi uoh sex
>>737372063Bullshit, I played those games, too. Also holy shit I didn't know her rack was like that
>>737375684I actually 'played' a lot of that shit to write short stories for school and occasionally use the Fine Artist portion for the comic things. That would later go into 3DMM and what I assume is part of the reason why I liked Jerkcity comics so much.
>>737368164all goodgame studios titles were absolute garbage but i was a retarded kid with a bad pc adn never downloaded anythingstill remember the songs like they're the birth of my firstborn child
