They aren't, the only reason we've gotten "less" directs as of late is due to the Switch 1 to Switch 2 transition, Nintendo & others winding down on Switch 1 games, and Switch 2 having a strong first year lineup. The random social media drops have been a thing since 2020. Directs are iconic, people who don't even like Nintendo watch them, & its easy eyes on smaller games, franchises, and publishers. Can't wait for June's direct so everyone can stop peddling this bullshit.

They have plenty of stuff that we know is being worked on with another pile of rumors behind it. Given the absolute dearth of releases in both 2025 and start of 2026, I can't imagine that they don't have anything at all lined up for the summer and end of the year, when they make the most from game sales.
