The usual PSO/shader stutter is present so every time new effect comes up on the screen the performance will tank.

While GPU's weren't as expensive, everything else usually costed more along with having to purchase additional hardware like Sound Cards and DVD Drives. I remember getting a DVD burner in 2003 in High School. Costed me around $300. But the upgrade from a CD driver was well worth it since you had games becoming large enough that required around 5 CD's just to install a game like Farcry.

There is no game that should require more than that to run, because games that ran at 60fps on the 9800 GTX looked better than modern games. Supreme Commander Forged Alliance was designed for single core CPUs. Crisis was playable at extreme settings on the 9800 GTX with 8gb of RAM.

I had 32Gb of RAM until a month ago. Then over the course of a week I started having frequent blue screen errors. Eventually it was diagnosed as a bad ram stick and I removed the bad one. Everything has been fine since. Now, I do have a 3080, but that doesn't make much of a difference. There is no reason modern games shouldn't run on default setting on a 3000 series card with 16Gb of RAM.
