/V/ Casuals and normies only go from point A to B like the mindless dornes they are.

Us old school actual gamers ALWAYS take our time with a new game and take in EVERYTHING the game has to offer like the lore, the sites, the mechanics and challenges.

Most of /v/ will rush thru the game just to come hear and gloat about how short or easy it is just to argue over nothing
>>

Is it worth the 60 or better on sale?

I was thinking of mouapse pi, or opus prism.

>>737407879
Its worth it and has some replay value.
Will probabaly get some DLC since it sold so well.

ITs worth the buy in my opinion even more than REsident evil 9.
Resident evil 9 was more wasted potential than this game and both games were clearly unfinished, but pragmata has the better gameplay
>>
>>737407708
You're probably killing really slowly between exploration. Have you been focusing on gun, hacking, or suit upgrades? Also, have you been doing all the training sims too?
>>
>>737409196
Yeah but it's just a line of text on a black screen and also a black and white picture of Hugh and Diana.
>>
>>737407708
Anon, Sector 4 is second to last sector of the game.
>>
>>737407708
My game says that I played for almost 15 hours, Steam says that I played for over 21. I finished the game two hours ago after 100%'ing all areas and only missing three training challenges and one Cabin figurine. Also, Sector Four is the second to last area and the next one is very short, so you're getting close to the end of the game unless you take your time to do the extra stuff, and the game unlocks a post-game area and a new difficulty, so that play time will only ramp up.
>>
Took about 20 hours to 100%
>>
>>737409754
>both games were clearly unfinished
I just finished the section where Diana got her upgrade after recovering from the dead filament infection and I don't get the feeling that the game is unfinished at all. It feels pretty tight, focused, and packed with things to do from collectibles to side missions (training simulations).

Since Capcom has been pretty upfront about this game being developed by a team of their younger staff and that they're putting them on this game to train them up on game development, I'm gonna cut them some slack on this one.

>>
I like to relax after work. It'd be really nice if there was a game journalist difficulty that would enable me to turn my brain off.

My first playthrough was 12 hours, my second on lunaic was 10 hours, im working my way thorugh lunaic unkown signal mode right now and im 5 hours in.

>>737412413
Lunatic is pretty challenging at the start, enemies have a ton of HP and does lots of damage, you lose all your upgrades and everything but a ton of things are also unlocked from the start. So once you start getting a build going it gets better. Unkown Signal - Lunatic is where it gets pretty insane.

Hey guys, I think I'm at the end of the game, I only have one destination leading to the center of the map, but there are outfits I never found like the astronaut one and the neon green one with short hair people have been posting. Should I backtrack and find them or are those yet to be unlocked? I'm on my way to fight Eight
>>
>>737413308
Some are unlocked from the Cabin Bingo, others are unlockable in the postgame.
>>
>>737412413
It's completely fine, just as a anon said on a post earlier, the sponginess of enemies is felt hardcore in the second to third map, but the moment you unlock the good mods the game is complete faceroll...

BUT holy shit, its almost impossible to do Unknown Signal on Lunatic, final boss powered up is ULTRA insane and took me like 30 tries to kill, even cheesing is hard.

I played overheat build for lunatic and once I got it set up it was super fun, I likethe mod that makes critcal attacks give 30% of the damage to everyone around them for huge AOE. It isnt working quite as well for lunatic unkown signal though since the bosses are so buffed up I cant almost never overheat, still works amazing for normal enemies though.
>>
>>737413864
did you use the overheat module as well or was the mode itself enough most of the time?
>>
>>737413864
Also for guns the shockwave is always the main damage dealer, new jackhammer weapon is good if you upgrade it, Riot blaster + multihack for weaker enemies , Code generator for dealing with bullshit red shield, decoy is amazing for anything not a boss and I switch to the shield ability or drone instead for bosses because decoy doesnt seem to affect them.

My main 3 hack nodes I run with are multikill, overheat, confusion.
>>
>>737413864
what build did you end up switching to unknown signal if overheat falls off?
Also, is there enough pure lunum in the game to get all the upgrades by the end of the game or do you need to do unknown signal to pick up more to fully upgrade everything?
>>
>>737414079
>>737414082
got my answer. that's pretty much the exact build i was thinking about investing into. i really enjoyed the jackhammer in the unknown signal mode so i'm glad it seems viable in lunatic as well
>>
>>737414079
overheat hack node is good for quickly taking down big enemies. The mode itself good enough for most enemies if you are good at the minigame but I still take the node for any hard enemies.
>>
>>737414158
I still used overheat build for any of the normal enemy challenges. But for bosses I switched to pure DPS build. With damage mods, the hacking mode that does massive extra damage if you shoot before completing it. I ended up having to use the mod that gives you extra damage for while away 50% of your HP. Im sure a hacking damage build using chain and exploit nodes could probably work well too.

Im still on the last boss trying to beat it.

Imagine all the endless suffering she is destined for.

Alone, naive, without the means to support herself or even recharge. Perpetually getting more worn out because the tech to repair herself is back on the moon. Repeatedly abandoned by whoever adopts her again, if only for a little while, when they find out she is a weird robot. Best case scenario, she finds another loving dad, but then they slowly wither and die while she remains forever young until she is alone again. If Delphi ever finds out she is on earth, they'll hunt and dismantle her on the spot, too. Diana is going to end up in tatty clothes, covered in bandages to cover all the spots where her robotic innards are peeking through or her body parts are missing. Begging in the streets.

Daddy had it easy.
>>
>>737414158
>>737414280
oh yeah also you get tons of pure lunum in unkown signal. I had all my skills fully upgraded and like 5 different guns and still have some left over. Im more gated on the actual currency than pure lumen.

I just finished the game at 16 hours and thats with the postgame stuff. Game was okay, I wish there were more moments of Hugh and Diana together or more characters even. Their bond felt really forced and Hugh as a character wasn't fleshed out enough. I guess it's not that type of game but with that kind of ending it felt like they were really going for something more. I enjoyed prism peak a lot more as a dad game but I had fun with both.

It's the build up and presentation.
You spent a good portion of the game goofing off with Diana in the shelter. By the time you've collected all the REMs and had conversations, you began to have the false hope that they can probably make it to earth after all - then Capcom reminded you with a gut punch

Also, Hugh is someone you want a good ending for. Solid guy, trusted by his team, he's initially focused on making back to earth to bring the news of his dead teammates to their families, then took Diana under his wings and genuinely wanted her to have a chance at being happy.
>>
>>737422450
You'll get the rewards even if you don't complete all three together. The crown you get for perfecting a sim is only for your satisfaction

I want to buy Pragmata, but physicals have ran out of stock in my area and I don't want to be a digital goycattle. I could play it on PC, but even then, paying more than 30€ for a digital copy is theft
>>
I bought it and put a few hours in last night. I noticed that the first area is only 53% done, so can I like go back now and fully complete that or do I have to wait until I have some other abilities or something later to get everything there done?
>>
>>737424126

>>probably sees himself in Diana and tried to give her what he got from his parents

In fact, thinking back on his conversations, it's as if Capcom knows and had to put these details because they felt the need to explain why someone is wholesome.
>>
>>737425595
You can choose to progress without 100% an area, but I recommend you should explore.
-You can find more mods and hacking modes to construct your preferred build
-You can get REMs for Diana
-You can get cabin coins for the bingo cards - it unlocks new outfits, and the infiltration files I feel is an important in-game lore
-You can also find training sims - which hints you on optimal strategies for certain enemies
>>
>>737407824
Anon the game really isn't all that long.
I 100%'d the base game (haven't really gotten stuck into the postgame missions yet) in about ~14 hours. No cutscene skipping, reading the data logs, listening to the recordings, etc.

The game quite literally gives you a wallhack with no cooldown for collectibles early on, so I don't understand how people are breaking the 20 hour mark in one playthrough unless they're just sitting their with their thumb up their ass looking at wall textures for 20 minutes every hour.

And before you get defensive, this isn't an indictment or anything. I like that the game is more tightly focused and isn't padded out with bullshit to appease dollar-per-hour golems and poorfags.
>>
>>737425242
>but even then, paying more than 30€ for a digital copy is theft
Then wait a year, Capcom games eventually go down in price + go on sale pretty often.
>>
>>737413796

>>
>>737425850
Right, but can I do that for each area right off the bat or do I have to go back later after getting new abilities or something? I felt like I was somewhat thorough in the first area and that 53% seemed pretty low.
>>
>>737425595
I would recommend until you get the final Diana upgrade after the fifth area. Also don't fret about not finding certain stuff during your first visit, soon you'll get an upgrade that lets Diana locate special items. The only thing you need to keep an eye on (or in this case, ear) is the Cabin figurines, since those are not detected by Diana's upgraded scan.

>>737426760
There is a postgame, but I haven't checked if the post-game lets you go back to the areas and do the challenges, I finished the game yesterday a bit late, so if another anon can confirm I would also appreciate it. Myself, I'm only missing three training challenges and one Cabin figurine.
>>
>>737426603
Ah my bad, you don't need to 100% each sector on the first go, because there are areas you can't traverse until you've unlocked further abilities, so don't fret if you really can't 100% it yet.
>>
>>737426643
Depends on your call for forced sadness
I feel the sad ending is justified because the game told you to get ready for it right from the start - everyone on the team died except Hugh. And the first conversations of the game was about how there's not another living soul at the Cradle

Heat Gauge buildup, unfortunately I feel that the damage is too low, the reloading is too slow and the recoil is too annoying for continuous firing unless you're pretty much kissing the enemy, and by that point you might as well just use the Shockwave Gun. teeth, forehead, and hair don't match the age that is implied by the rest of her appearance and her behaviour. they look like adult features plastered on a kid. teeth too small and uniform, forehead too big, hair is messystyled in a way that generally doesn't work on young long hair (which is already rare because kids suck at maintaining their hair)

The game places a lot of concerning questions, especially once you reach the Terra Dome. Are lunafilament-based plants able to grow naturally? Would they be able to generate saplings that would grow into new plants in a natural environment? Does lunafilament replicate organic matter to the cellular level? And this extends to Diana: Just how "human" is she? Would she start absorbing solar energy as an alternative energy source? Would she try eating? Will she start growing as a normal human as years go by?

Personally, I think that a Pragmata 2 with a grown-up Diana going against a Delphi that wants to capture the last living Pragmata would be a really nice excuse for a sequel.

Yeah I know, and that isn't constant. Her feet rarely touch the ground until she gets back. So she can do quite a lot of heavy activity without needing to recharge immediately. Hence I'm sure she has time to figure something out before her energy is drained.

Heat on bosses is VERY hard to build, you're more likely to kill it before you build the gauge. I found heat completely useless for bosses on Lunatic.

I finished the game and got most cheevies but will not finish the postgame stuff because I did not find the combat all that enjoyable. Hacking had potential to be interesting but the game simply didn't have enough going on in the combat loop to be interesting. The enemy variety is there but most of them just stand there and do nothing with how the combat works.

Fun game but it's not going to be remembered for its combat.

Objectively bad complaint. Pragmata's combat is flawed because it isn't streamlined/polished/perfected enough - but it has PLENTY to do during combat. It's actually a little too much to do and it certainly the most action per second demanding 3rd person shooter I've ever played compared to stuff like Evil Within, Dead Space, RE4R, etc.

>hack enemy
>shoot them in their weak spot as they stand there waiting to die
>rinse and repeat for 15 hours

They added the corrupted enemies in way too late into the game and even then having to charge up diana's blast feels like shit because of how bad the hitbox along with not being able to dash cancel into it. The actual combat is easily the worst aspect of the game. I even had more fun with the platforming and "puzzles". I wish the game had melee attacks or some kind of abilities to more than just shoot. imagine doing a divekick or something where you jump off the enemies head and it launches you into the air for air time or something. the game could have just done so much more especially considering how long the development hell has been. The hacking is the only thing that makes the combat not entirely dog shit. the combat just felt incredibly static the entire game.

Wrong retard. Think about the timeline of events. Higgins wanting to warn people was before Delphi killed his daughter. The holos after that has him going vengeful. The Dead Fillament absorbed his will, that's the same reason that Diana was feeling depressed while she was corrupted. If his will was simply to warn people about the dead fillament then she wouldn't have gone so doom and gloom.

Hugh also thinks that Higgins wanted revenge but isn't willing to vocalize that to Diana. Listen to the conversation where Diana asks Hugh if Higgins wanted to destroy the Earth. Hugh is pretty hesitant to say yes or no, and tells Diana that whatever she thinks is the correct answer, the way that Hugh always hides his own negative feelings. Its just like when he was seething at Higgins treating her like Daisy instead of her own person but clammed up and didn't vocalize that to her. The game is expecting you to use your brain and take subtle hints.

You're also making shit up about the dead fillament having a will of its own. Read the enemy log for the victory lap boss. Its possessed by the will of all the dead researchers, not its own.
>>

>>
>>737442250
Nah, Pragmata is better because its a dad game that isn't about trauma dumping. Hugh is the goat because he's motivated by a desire to do unto others what was done to him, not any melodramatic bullshit like every other dad game.
>>
>>737441285
No need to get defensive, it's just an objectively wrong point to make. There's plenty to do in a fight:
>Shooting
>Dodging
>Aiming at Weak Points
>Switching Weapons for the situation
That's just basic 3rd shooter stuff of course, but that's usually most games limit. They might add a mechanic or two on top, but that's it. Pragmata also has a whole minigame on top of that which requires you to look at a side screen while in the middle of a fight.

>Oh, so it's just too hard for you?
No, that's the thing, the game isn't hard -they balanced it around playing that hacking mini-game over and over... BUT sometimes a fight ends in a few seconds. Sometimes they last way longer than they should because the main weapon isn't much damage and the other weapons are limited shots. But the worst sin is: Pragmata never has a flow state where you feel totally in control of the whole situation. You either curb stomp or dance around playing the minigame perfectly.

I want to think the Lunafilament itself was trying to stop the spread of Dead Filament, because after the moonquake the central port is surrounded by a wall of it and Eight is bound by the tree. If the filament can copy everything and the Dead Filament can carry a will (or has one), it stands to reason the Lunafilament does too, right?

My gut reaction is to either give a lock on mode for aiming or slow down time while hacking. If they made the gameplay more manageable, then they could turn up the heat by adding more problems to deal with. It feels too RNG and Spastic at the moment. But still pretty decent for an original combat system, it could easily have been a lot worse. I really like Pragmata, it's a good game and a fun time. They should definitely make the weapon equipping/switching more responsive tho. Literally no reason to not be able to switch on a time. A half second delay is way too long and it feels like a full second to pick up a weapon and switch to it.

Here it is, word for word, what Eight's motivation was. The fact that she puts it, "you were desperate to tell everyone about the dangers of dead filament" before immediately adding her own warped interpretation of that wish is NOT SUBTLE on the part of the writers. Higgins was obsessed with Daisy, and while he was angry with Delphi, I FUCKING DEFY YOU to show me where it shows him plotting revenge, much less a desire to kill literally everyone. You're as fucking dumb as Eight was if you interpret his anger and regret as some specific call to action when nothing like that is stated anywhere with abundant opportunity to do so

why are Pragmata designed to look like little girls?
did some scientist lost his daughter and is trying to bring her back this way like in the first Pokemon movie?
>>
>>737443673
I agree with you, but Higgins also specifically said "Curse Earth and Delphi". I still believe at no point Eight acted against humans maliciously or as an act of revenge, it was mostly the fact that humans were in her way of "fulfilling Dr. Higgins' will", so she took the simplest approach which was ordering IDUS to eliminate any "unwelcomed intruders", and even during her fight she keeps talking about wanting to fulfill her purpose as a Pragmata which was sending the will of the doctor to Earth via the dead filament.

Which is why it's so contrasting to Diana who actually learned to think as a person and not as a Pragmata and believed that Higgins would have never attacked humanity, he was just suffering a moment of weakness and cursing everyone before his death, which transferred to the dead filament as his "will".

If you somehow haven't been spoiled yet, you're close. Pragmata were created using the doctor's daughter as a blueprint in order to find a cure to her incurable illness, but right when he had found a breakthrough that could have saved her, shortly after she died. Diana and Eight were created in her image based on how old she was at the time of their creation.

Eight jumps to her own misguided conclusion because she doesn't fully understand emotions the way human being would. That is what ultimately makes her different from Seven. Through interactions with Hugh she goes beyond her initial programming and becomes more human. That's why the last thing she shouts during the final fight with Eight is her new name. She's not Seven anymore, she's Diana.

Meanwhile Eight did not have that kind of development and all dead filament seems to store is negative emotions. Higgins was undeniably upset about the actions of Delphi and remorseful about his own actions up until that point. When dead filament consumed him that's the kind of emotions that got transferred. In the end Eight's interpretation is twisted and pretty machinelike.

I get that. And I never said he wasn't mad at Delphi and Earth but he was also mad at himself and spent most of his time apologizing to his daughter's memory. If the writers really wanted to reveal him as the mastermind behind trying to destroy the Earth with dead filament, they could have. Merely implying such a massive plot point and demanding it be read in between the lines is absurd. He never came anywhere remotely close to suggesting that in ANY of the text or video logs we see. "Curse them" is way too weak to hard carry applying that motivation to him ESPECIALLY when it's made clear here >>737443776 that the sending dead filament to Earth plan was specifically Eight's interpretation. That's not even up for debate, it's just right there in full view. Whether she was genuinely out for vengeance or just misguided like the kid she is, she didn't get "kill everyone" from Higgins' lips at any point

Dogs are, in popular imagination, thought of as tougher and smarter creatures. If I left my dog behind, I imagine he'd be able to survive without me if he escaped from my house. I love the setup and dynamic of this game but just can't really get myself to care about the combat. I like the hacking but enemies and weapons are just really boring. This was probably my most anticipated game of the year and diana delivered but the rest of the game just kind of fell flat. Resident evil had fun melee combos and setups along with limb based targeting. Deadspace had limb based targeting with a bunch of really fun and unique weapons that work well with the enemy roster making encounters unique.

Pragmata has fun hacking and great movement but all of it in motion just feels extremely samey and boring in comparison. This just feels like one of the most unsatisfying TPS games I've played in a long time which is something coming from capcom that basically defined the genre. I'm just so torn with this game because I really want to like it but the gameplay was just so lacking for me.

The playtimes reported by that website are usually for a shitty "rush the main story" sorta playthrough where you don't take your time checking out everything the game has to offer.
>>
>>737448576
different bots have different hacking minigames maybe even a wario-like
>>
>>737450156
the pistol is incredibly strong once you upgrade it and is a lot more efficient than juggling weapons with limited ammo. The issue is that there's no real tactical or quick thinking in the game for every encounter. It's not like resident evil where you can go for stuns then melee attacks mix things up or clear space for yourself. In pragmata every single encounter is hack, then shoot the weak spots. There's no real depth or skill beyond just being good at hacking and abusing your dodge iframes. The weapons themselves were serviceable enough but the rest of the systems don't really gel together to make tight stressful combat encounters that capcom is known for. I could be more lenient on the game but this game was in development hell for a very long time and the combat still turned out like this.
>>
>Decoy
>Hacking mines
>Expose, multihack, confuse for normal mobs
>Expose, freeze, decode for bosses

>>
>>737448961

>>
>>737450490
True you can get minutes of gameplay during which enemies won't even aggro you because they're permastunned or distracted. There's no encounter in the game that pushes you beyond what that loadout can handle
>>
>>737445759
>They're 100% evil.
They did a good job of making them a more realistic, subdued kind of evil rather than the overly exaggerated cartoonish type of evil.
There's heavy surveillance of their employees, there's incompetence with how the whole Daisy situation was handled, there's obvious military grade equipment downplayed to "security" and "breaking down riots" for PR.

Knowing Capcom and their little girl archtypes, Diana is probably a mobile version of the Cradle, I wouldn't doubt that she could create Lunafiliment on her own since she was hinted at as special. Shes clearly different than any other robot that was created and does some logic breaking shit during the game that a robot like her shouldn't be able to do, in all honestly shes practically a god and Hugh was instilling vlaues into her the entire game, then sent her off on her own. Diana could easily reform and save Earth, then get back to Hugh eventually.
>>
>>737451054
I know the point is to make your own fun
I actually gave all weapons and hack combinations a chance during my playthrough, I just discuss the most broken ones here because what would be the point of talking about mediocre loadouts? I guess we could talk about how lackluster the missile launcher is

100% the game. Too me 18hrs 24 mins. Really like that the boss was different in unknown signal The challenges not having a time limit was nice as well. Felt good after doing 30 like that.

Only thing left to do is lunatic.
>>
>>737457212
I'm nearly there as well finished all the challenges and unlocked everything just farming lunafilament to upgrade all my gear before moving on
The post-game content is pretty good I enjoyed the challenge missions more than the training sims and the buffed bosses are a fun way to give you rematches
>>
>>737455019
I think it's a tad overpriced for a simple linear third-person shooter. They usually just milk the impulsive first-day buyers before lowering the prices a few months later down the track. I'd wait until it's 30% off at least, but if you really like those kinds of games it's not a bad buy at all.
>>
>>737458517
If I wait will I be able to get the cool pre-order outfits?
>>
>>737458602
They will only be available until Friday.

CD key resellers usually keep CD keys with preorder bonuses still available, and will usually match Steam prices after they go on sale. So yes, technically you can still get preorder outfits during a sale, if you manage to get your CD keys there.

Is there a use for Auto-Hack or is it just baby scrub shit and you're burning perfectly good Overdrive meter?
>>
>>737459152
Not really, especially on higher difficulties where overdrive can be essential.

yes, same as the feet shot when she falls down the rail trying to catch the cat

Even on normal mode this game provides a decent challenge.

Health is scarce, and you dont get full health refills, so avoiding damage is important.
Its a very balanced game difficulty wise, so i look forward to lunatic mode.

What are the main differences of lunatic mode compared to normal anyone?

These space suit skins are all padded to hell, just like the real ones. This is the apollo 11 suit without the white outer layer and it's still puffed up.

Just look back and forth at her default model and any of the space ones (mecha builder/star lily/black neon). Her legs alone become twice as big. None of them reflect her actual body shape.

Upgrades make them all better, except the rocket launcher which is somehow garbage.
I thought the laser was trash until I upgraded it, samw with the portable railgun.
>>
>>737407708
It's a 10 hour game when your goal is just to finish the game rather than to play the game and you rush through it as quickly as you can just to get it finished. If you take your time it's a 15 hour game.
>>
>>737460481
I really dislike all her non jacket outfits because her pose remains unchanged and it's the pose of a girl wearing a thick down jacket. Like, the way her arms are away from her body is because there's usually a padded layer of clothes there.
>>
>>737442250
I finished OPUS Prism Peak before pragmata. Prism Peak made me cry at the end cause I got the true ending the first time but pragmata was a lot more fun as an actual game but still has a decent story. The part where he reaches the peak and just sells only for the clouds to part just fucking hit me right in the gut. Also learned later the three song that plays during that was made by Kevin Penkin so no wonder that scene hit especially hard for me.

>>737461704
I guess. Yeah the rocket launcher feels bad. I want to use something different for lunatic but I think i'm just going to end up using the shotgun again.
>>
>>737460521
Enemies have more health, you take more damage. Other than that there's just about half the weapons available to unlock from the start.

Oh also M+KB turns this game into a complete joke. We all know that aiming with mouse is easier than on controller, but the hacking is also twice as fast with a mouse, so if you're playing M+KB you're basically trippling the speed at which you play the game and it becomes super apparent that like Vanquish it was designed around Controller.
>>
>>737443068
10~16 hours depending on how good you're at searching and if you wanna get the best ending by photographing everything important and getting all the needed stuff.
>>
Gaddayum I can finally finish the game now.

Has anyone found a definitive best build yet?
I'd like to do a Lunatic run, but I was getting my ass kicked a lot more than I thought I would during the mid to late game on normal with an overheat/hacking build.

>>737461356
The piercer is also really good. With all the upgrades, it basically turns into Pragmata's equivalent of the RE magnum.

Makes the effects of hacking nodes (decode, expose, freeze etc.) stronger if you first go through the blue boost squares.
>>
>>737462936
boosts the effects of hacking nodes when you activate them together. like for example with decode it increases the damage the enemy takes even further

knock down the executors with riot blasters and their exposed weakness on the back is your playground, the only trick is to make them fall forward instead of stunning them a few steps back
But I haven't tried Lunatic yet, so I don't know if that same strategy still works
