I remember people being very disappointed that it was marketed as if you were going to be playing the bad guys but, as usual, you join the rebellion and start to fight the bad guys very early on in the game.The pulled the same shit with Syndicate too. At least with that game though the player character himself literally does not have a choice and you can try to remain loyal to your employer only for the rebels to reveal they've installed a slave chip in you and you just have to do what they tell you to.
