hate? This is the best RE game ever made, surpasses the original in every possible way.
No, it got a lot of hate from the same people hating it now. Uncs who are sad that their childhood game is seen as outdated and worthy of a remake. They have no real critcisms and spend much of their time crying about the pause menu not being the same.

>>737426342I'm playing through it now. It's alright but I wouldn't say it's better than the original. The enemies often not reacting at all to getting shot in the face is bullshit. Basically everyone sprouting tentacle head plagas at night is just annoying. Lots of the enemies being bullet sponges is annoying. Baby sitting Ashley is annoying. The parry stuff with the knife is annoying. The Merchant is straight up worse (he really needs to shut the fuck up more), as is most of the voice acting. It will keep eating all your ammo and then not giving you any so you will end up being forced into large set piece fights or bosses with fuck all resources to actually fight with. Bosses so far are all kinds of bullshit and annoying. I don't hate it but it's merely alright instead of incredible like the original.

If you want 1 shot guaranteed staggers you can always play on easy mode, you will have your OG experience right there, you have the option. Except that would hurt your ego, wouldn't it? You want to play an extremely easy game while being called the most badass skilled gamer around, and the remake doesn't do that.
