There really is a difference to understanding XIV's writing depending on if you were subbed when a story beat was occurring vs. reading large parts of the MSQ uninterrupted without the months, if not years, of analysis and thought. Newbies genuinely think the WoD arc in 3.X was planning SHB ahead of time and not something Ishikawa borrowed from later on, that the HW BRD quests were teasing Meteion, and that the 6.X Void quests were laying the foundation for another Void expansion and not just another WoD situation where it's tied up in a pretty bow and a teeny tiny "or really?" if the writers care to circle back to it.
