>>737502575I haven't played shadows, and I haven't bought a ubisoft game in a long time, mostly because they've been underwhelming, downgraded (the RPG games were notorious for having downgraded parkour), and also woke, I don't like that annoying word but it's expedient. The most recent AC I got was valhalla, so what I understand of the games which came after is mostly what I've gathered from AC autists that have played them. The best thing I can say from what I know is again, that ubisoft decided to listen to some of the feedback for it. What happenned was mirage released, with a more parkour oriented map than the RPG games but with what appeared to be the same system as the previous, RPG games. People complained about it, and also compared it's speed to the very first AC game (which to this day by the way, has one of the best parkour systems alongside the Ezio games) so ubisoft eventually made it faster, and in one update added height gain to ejects (one problem with the RPG games is that side and back ejects had none, or inconsistant height gain, at times gravitating you to lower climable objects). When Shadows was first being shown off to people like reviewers all of that was gone. One guy on youtube called ropotopolus did a breakdown on it and ubisoft actually responded to it, and since then they've improved the system in the game. It's map is of course, much more like the other RPG style games, so it's not conducive to parkour like say, Venice, but it's better now for what it is. Ropotopolus has videos on it. A lot of people talk about the AC parkour systems but far less understand them, and this guy ropotopolous, is sort of part of a niche group of AC fans who care about it at all, with connections to them. This means if ubisoft wanted to listen, they could actually steer their games in a better direction and potentially (with humility) racapture at least something of what the old AC games were about.

played original like 2 years agoi dont see why this is worth 60 euros over the original. for that money i expect an actual remake with new rendering systems and asset libraries and not AI upscaled and partially retouched assets from the old game.not worth anywhere close that for me. even if i hate tailing missions, they are like 30min of total runtime.
