so i started a character in hopes of making a sick bounty hunter but i have no money no weapons and no food and all ive done is get beat up and locked up nonstop when i try to steal something or explore the worldany tips kek ideally without grinding some repetitive task for 5 in day games
there's a giga autist who has youtube tutorials on how to powerlevel characters to max level in seconds.
>>737509882frankiewuzhere>>737509736if you don't want exploits then im afraid getting beat up is a pretty big part of getting stronger in this gamescavenge some equipment to sell, hire some guards and then go beat some bandits up
>>737509736steal masterwork/specialist samurai armor and helmetget beat up until 90 toughness if you're going solo
>>737509736unironically take the slave startyou can powerlevel your sneaking and lockpicking and thieving, free other slaves as a distractionwith very little effort at all you can end up arming the slaves and locking up most of the guards in the pit because just taking their gear and throwing them in a cage will mark that NPC as a slave as far as the guards are concerned
>>737509882>>737510049>youtuberthanks!also i dont mind getting beat up to get stronger, i just dont know where to scavenge or where to go to get loot to sell, i guess>>737510241ok... i'll look that up ty>>737510829alright, i'll give it a shot, also gives me escaping as an early goal so thats coolty anons
I have 2 wheat farms and 2 cactus farmsfood doesn't seem a problem for now for my 6 niggasnow I'm looking for trouble to level up thoughness, so far I'm 15-20 and hungry bandits are still tough
>>737512314>so far I'm 15-20 and hungry bandits are still toughCould be worse, you could've thought you were strong and gone to the great desert at that level like me. That was a harrowing experience.
>>737509736how to train melee stats:>buy a bed roll>rush to the united cities>go down to the blue area>lead a beak thing to stronger guys without getting raped>let them knock it out>heal it>wait for it to get back up while hovering over the pick-up option>as soon as it's standing up pick it up>if you did it right it shouldn't be able to move and you're carrying it in a ragdoll>take it's body somewhere secluded >place your bedroll>let your guy beat the shit out of it with martial arts and weapons of choice (best with a lot of them since you'll level up your melee attack stat faster>let this get high so you don't beat it up too fast>when ready to actually do damage get a shit ton of iron or copper and put it into a trader backpack and your inventorythe beak thing will gain toughness with time when you do this but let it's health heal so you can have longer sessions with it.as for toughness:>preferably lose a limb>go to the ashlands>wear a gas mask so your lungs don't get fucked (optional)>find a big ass group of skeletons>let them kick your ass >keep getting up taking the arm off an on in your inventory>they won't be able to hit you fast enough if you're doing this right because taking off a limb temporarily stuns you>with how shit your toughness is it'll skyrocketthis part is a bit more annoying to do with larger parties so just do it for your first few guys and just turn your group into murder hobos the "normal way"
>>737511208Kenshi will teach you to be a vulture, it's an exploration game so you shouldn't know where to go, discover and just use logic, follow strong people and pick up what they don't, One of the first things I did the first time I played was luring animals into towns with strong security to then loot their bodies for meat and skin.>>737512314Make an enemy and loot them, take bodyguards, even early game you should be able to take on the leader of the dust bandits,Has anybody tried this? .https://problemchild1500.itch.io/kenshi-virtual-simulation-engine
>>737509736>He fell for the Kenshi is good meme
>>737513939Hmm seems cool. I wonder how compatible it is with other world state mods
>>737511208please don't watch any power level autist shit videos if you are playing for the first time. anyone giving you details beyond a vague outline of something to do is being self indulgent and is actively trying to ruin your experience in the gamethe whole point of playing the game is figuring this stuff out for yourself and the reward you get from going through the meat grinder until your character starts to snowball
This is my sensei. He taught me everything i needed to know about fighting. Say something nice to him!
>>737514434>beyond a vague outline of something to do could use more of these honestly
>>737509736So...who is Screamer [THE TRUE]?
>started falling behind in school prior to spring break >decided to use spring break to catch up>installed kenshi early in the break on a whim to see how it’d run with mods >get hooked>have put in 500 hours since then >deleted and reinstalled it 5 times >still haven’t gotten caught up I deleted it again yesterday and feel a lot less compelled, which is good. I’ve only got about 10 days left to get everything turned in before finals. >>737513048I’ve been wanting to test out that cheese method for Martial Arts since leveling it up is extremely tedious at first. There are mods that make increasing strength and toughness a matter of upgrading your research skills and nothing more, which can also be a gigantic pain in the ass if you don’t have easy access to ancient books.
>>737515628>most reliable way to level up ranged weapon skills Love me crossbows, love me gorillo sensei. Simple as.
>>737509736i haven't played in ages but my early cheese always involved running to ruins to sell the super expensive shit there and beating on the swamp turtles because they were basically free to beat on
>>737518045oh right i forgot the part where you also just go bait beak things to a hiver village and they'll kill them for you and then you can just sell the beak thing parts to the hivers for money and food, i like hanging at their village more than mining copper
>>737509736Kenshi has a very hard start. The simplest way to get stronger is get enslaved. The best way to do it otherwise is farm iron or copper outside a city and keep selling it.Youll get stronger and faster and mining and better at carrying. Also if you see a body pick it up. Carrying dead guys around is great strength training
>>737509736>when i try to steal somethingHowSteal shit on tables and shelves, these have 100% steal success chance. Once you've leveled your thieving enough, like 15 or so, you can start stealing shit from chests. Always check the success% before. It goes up the further the vendors are. Coming at night when the shop is empty is a nice way to increase your luck. You can train your thieving skills on chests in shinobi hideouts (such as in The Hub). You can train your combat skills in police stations (Squin). Just don't get seen, after a few warnings they will kick you out.Training STR is extremely easy. Get a thief or trader backpack (from Shinobi hideout or trading station). Mine enough iron to fill your bag and become super heavy. Carry someone on your shoulder (a teammate or some random fuck you KO'd). Now just run around at x10 speed, you'll get 50 STR in like 10 minutes. You can shift+click 50 times on each side of the screen to make your characters "patrol" left and right for ages, or follow a city gard that walks around.DEX and Toughness I'm afraid you'll need to fight and get KO'd to level.Steal yourself a nice weapon :- Katanas are light and great to start with and will train DEX, but will quickly be obsolete- Sabers are better katanas and give you extra defense- Heavy weapons are the strongest the higher your stats get, and will train STR- Polearms are great against animals and the best all rounder- Hackers are great against armor and robots, trains both STR and DEX- Blunt weapons are great for the trash (and also for grinding stats, since you won't do much damage to your target with them)Keep in mind that the lower your stats are, the more XP you get. So equipping a weapon too heavy for you, with a bunch of armor lowering whatever stat you want to grind, is good.
>>737515972run around looking for ruins. once that athletics is high enough you can outrun anything assuming you arent weighed down with loot. You can get good weapons or even stuff to sell in ruins, and you may find good merchants too.getting beat up increases your toughness, forcing your guy to stop playing dead when enemies are nearby also raises toughness by a lot. Clubs wont bleed you which means its easier to recover from being put unconscious by them which means fighting club guys in noob zone is pretty safe, hire some guy or get someone for free and have him sneak and bring you to a bed over and over as you fight enemies until you can start winningif you really want to start researching stuff i recommend buyin a building in town, you can check to see if buildings in town are for sale by clicking them and seeing their status. buying in town means you dont need to worry about defences and its a good place to start before you build in the wilderness if you ever decide to do that.
>>737519252thanks so much anon, i appreciate this a lot!
>>737519232awesome to keep handy, thanks man!
>>737519810The fastest way way to get your thievery skill up is to:1) steal something from a shelf or table (like that anon said, as long as no one sees you it has a 100% success rate)2) hide somewhere no one can see you or bother you ***IN THE SAME BUILDING*** 3) then begin the process of dropping it from your inventory and picking it up and over again for about 5 minutes (which can feel pretty tedious, but it's absolutely worth it)The reason you have to do it in the same building is that this doesn't work if you try to do it outside of the owner's property (you can see who owns the item by checking it's stats-- it will literally describe who it was stolen from). Getting it up to 50 is safe for pretty much 80%-90% success with everything stored in crates and boxes, but I usually go up to 60+ since that guarantees 95%-100% on pretty much everything EXCEPT f0r shit that people are wearing. You skill needs to be absurdly high for that to work without knocking them out first, and ain't nobody got time for that.
>>737521050Also, it doesn't matter what item it is or what quality it is-- everything using this method provides the same amount of EXP no matter what. The only real difference is that the size of the item in your inventory may or may not make picking it up and dropping it again a little easier. But otherwise, the stat increase is exactly the same.
